According to the lore all you need to do to be worthy of lifting mjolnir is ask Odin to make you worthy. It's what hulk did in Thor #26 after Thor absorbs gamma radiation and becomes the hulk of thunder. Hulk asks Odin to make him worthy of picking up mjolnir cuz it's the only weapon that can be used against Thor in the gamma absorbed transformation. Hulk even gets a new outfit just for that fight that looks similar to Thors usual outfit
