You can do 2x2 super trees with spruce saplings

If you water log slabs/fences/stairs/leaves etc they don't freeze. You can also put a heat source torches or glow stone and it also stops them from freezing within a certain radiud

I love watching minecraft videos while knitting or crocheting - I make primarily woollen blankets. I'm knitting a wool beanie currently. It's gotten pretty cold recently and snowed a ton. Where I live we get a decent amount of snow and temperatures stay consistently -10 Celsius, or colder. And we get first snow usually mid to late October - I live in rather high up in north, just 154 km (96 miles) from Arctic circle, so....
