Tips for the future!, Stuff damp tinder inside your clothing to let your body heat dry the tinder. Tip two, rub the tinder vigorously between your hands to break up the fibers (trying for a fluff) and make them catch a spark much much easier. Tip three, hold your striker still and pull the rod back so the sparks drop down instead of scattering like they do when you hold the rod and drive the striker across it. You still got fire so im proud of you man! These things will just make it easier in the future ^_^

Very entertaining - great effort with that chair🙂 Suggestions: if you have sunlight leave some tinder on top of the rocks to get as dry as possible before attempting to use it. Additionally, splitting a dry-ish piece of wood can often allow you to scrape shavings off the inside, which can be drier than the outside on some driftwood. Finally, keep the saw still and pull the ferro rod back away from it. You get better control over the amount of sparks, and where they land.
