Definitely a weird "less is more" scenario. Coaching mattered a lot. Del Harris and Phil Jackson with the triangle was a huge difference. The first season for Phil they traded Eddie Jones and Elden Campbell to have 3 all stars with Glen Rice, won the title, let Rice go, and won 2 more. If there is ever a case to be made for coaching matters, I think that the late 90's Lakers are the best example.

He’s not becoming a jump shooter, so he’s gonna clog the paint. Lebron’s offense is drive and pass out to shooters. Shaq’s style is to post up. These two play styles conflict one another.
