I think you choosing a different book than your tbr is amazing! If you force yourself to read something you don't find entertaining at the moment, you won't want to read. Just read what you are wanting in the moment. As soon as I did that, I stopped having as many reading slumps and I had a better time reading. Also don't be ashamed to dnr a book!! If you aren't getting any entertainment out of something you are using as a source of entertainment, you will feel more unfulfilled. In all, read however you want!! Don't do it because some random people on the internet might not agree with how you read. You're doing great!!
