Just checked, 35 12.5 20s are 20 lbs lighter on the "E load rated" RT trail than the MTs! And a 45K warranty!! Sold

Just swapped the garbage Nittos that were on my 21 Power Wagon when I bought it from the dealer with The Open Country RT Trails 35x12.5. Only have a few hundred miles on em so far but I can attest the road noise is very low, ride comfort is better than the Nittos and they honestly were not horribly expensive. Always been a fan of the Toyos!!

How does your MPG compare to the Nittos?
@TGLASS242 ай бұрын
@@matthewmenadier9682 lost about 1/4 mile per gallon maybe a tad less but pushing about two inches more rubber per tire as well. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

These are my new all time favorite tire!! I've had them on my truck for 6k miles now they are so awesome!! Very little road noise, good in rain, dirt, mud, and they throw 0 rocks on and off dirt roads! If anyone has any questions I can answer!!

How often do u need to rotate them? Every 5k miles?, I haven't tried them in wet conditions yet I know they'll perform better than my ko2 I had previously

@uno3863 I haven't done them yet they hold tread really well , no cupping in fact I run my at 55 60 psi because the middle tread is taking most of the wear. I'll do mine in another 1k

Thoughts on sidewall strength of MT's vs the Trails for typical southwest terrain; rock gardens, sticks poking out on trail, etc?
@bmurphy3864 ай бұрын
I personally ran at2s (on truck from purchase) terrible wet traction ok of road and terrible snow. Bought AT 3s and all the above is very impressive. I live in pnw so lots of rain. Theyare triple peakbrated as well. I'm in 60k with atleast 20k left. Work rig with weight.19 tacoma.

I"m in South Louisiana and use 4 wheel drive for work, and also for hunting and fishing, I don't overland or off road for fun. I've run Toyo MT, Toyo RT (not RT trail), BF Goodrich Mud TA and a few others along the way. We have real mud here, and I need to be able to go where I need to go and when I need to go, again I use 4wd for work. AT tires regardless of make and model are a joke in the mud here, a total and complete joke. Toyo MT are good Toyo RT (not RT trail) or ok, but the Mud TA are monsters. I am currently running 35" Toyo RT and you have to be careful with them as they have limitations in mud, again this is mud only, but where I'm at that is what I deal with. So if you need Mud performance, AT tires are no go, and you need to be careful with Hybrids like the RT, note from what I've seen the RT trail has a tighter spacing than the RT so mud performance will not be as good as the RT. Hope this helps someone.

I always run the MTs and they last about 50k miles with regular rotations...but might have to give the RTs a try
@connorjohnson32917 ай бұрын
How are you liking them so far? I’m in a similar boat, going from an MT to a RT/AT. I have a Wrangler JK with 35” Nitto Trail Grapplers, but I’m looking to go up to a 37”. However the Trail Grapplers and Ridge Grapplers are just so heavy compared to a 37” OC RT Trail. My hesitation is the tread depth on the RT trails seems to be quite less compared to an MT, but even quite a bit less than the new Falken AT4W. What are your thoughts so far on them and any concerns with the tread depth and tread life?

I really wish people would weight the tire, rim, and wheel so that we could better decide what tire to choose if we are trying to keep the rolling mass as light as possible.

How has the ride been? I'm due for new tires and trying to decide if I should go back with the Toyo MT or switch up to the RT trail.
@TGLASS244 ай бұрын
I just put a set of 35s on my Power Wagon and the ride is a ton better than the Nitto Ridge Grapplers that were on it. Not sure what your scope of driving entails but, I would seriously consider the RT Trails!!
@Tdill904 ай бұрын
@@TGLASS24 Mostly highway driving but do take it on to trips in the mountains. Its been in some thick mud twice neither by choice. The Toyo MTs last forever and have no issues pulling through anything. Only issue is they are a mud tire so they make some noise (nothing crazy). You can also feel the lugs when driving at slower speeds. Trying to decide if its worth it going to a hybrid or just go back with the MTs.
@TGLASS244 ай бұрын
@@Tdill90 Well let me know what you decide! I had the 37s MTs on an old F-250 and definitely know about feeling the lugs. I feel like you can BARELY feel em on RTs.
@Tdill902 ай бұрын
@@TGLASS24 I ended up going with the RT Trails. Much smoother ride. A little less road noise but the TOYO MT aren't bad to a mud tire. That low speed feeling every lug is gone. Cornering is much smoother. Overall I definitely like them for what I use the truck for.

Look at the performance chart and compare RT Trail and just RT...There's not a single metrics where RT pulls ahead. Doesn't make sense...it's always pros and cons...I even called Toyo, and they said RT Trail is between AT3 and RT...well, in that case why wouldn't it rank higher in off road parameters. Also their website doesn't mention which sizes come in 2 or 3 ply sidewall...You have to call...Maybe they assume most people buy them for looks (Like Ridge Grapplers) and don't care about such "details"...Falken has that info on their website...
