I Switched to Mac After a Lifetime of Windows

For my entire life, I've been a Windows user. However, i recently got "forced" to start using a Mac. Specifically, an M3 Max MacBook Pro 16-inch. I started with low expectations, but the experience has been nothing short of incredible.
This is not an epic Tech-review, just my personal experiences with Mac and Windows.

In case you didn’t know, after you press command tab to switch between apps, you can press Q over each one to quit them. (Except finder obviously). Hope that helps!

A tip: Swipe 3 fingers up for mission control to see all your apps and desktops ;) thank me later.

- enable app exposes in trackpad settings - it show your different windows in 1 app by swipe 3 (or 4) fingers down :)

Good review, I was a Windows NT Server administrator for IBM Global Services from 1996 -1998, and bought a Mac Centris 650 at a LSI Logic employee sale that they had for the computers we replaced with Windows 95 Compaq desktop's. Since the I have always ran both Mac's and Windows PC's, and now dual boot with Windows 10 and Mac OS X on a Intel CPU Mac Book Pro and a 2012 12 core Mac Pro desktop.

I ran an MBP for 4 years alongside my Windows gaming PC. MacOS on a Macbook Pro is an excellent paradigm. Everything works sweetly and intuitively. For me, though, all the magic dies in the desktop paradigm (i.e. an external keyboard and mouse). Without the integrated feel you get working from a MBP natively, the niggles of MacOS UX and workflow just allow Windows to win out in that use case. Just my personal view. Of course others will disagree.

As a person whos used both, mac over simplifies, has little quirks like the 3 buttons being hidden in full screen, and is an eco prison that locks everything behind a paywall. Did I mention its monopolistic and shuns anything not apple. WHY?

I've been a Windows user like you since I was a kid. The only reason I didn't switch to Mac is the price 😂 I want the 16inch wich starts at 2700 here in Portugal. Crazy expensive but it's an awesome machine I guess xd

Why use Linux for personal desktop computer when MacOS has the best of the both worlds. Polished desktop GUI and underneath it runs real certified UNIX ? Linux is good for headless servers which i do use but not for desktop use. Also dont try to use MacOS as Windows, learn the actual workflow and the features of using MacOS as intended. It starts to make sense after few weeks if you are actually using its features as its designed.
