Some Spoilers: Really enjoyed this...love this FL&the ML isnt bad either. The FL is from the modern time who transmigrated into the ancient times. She's a daughter of a concubine of a low ranking court official... She enters the royal harem bc of the previous emperor's edict. The FL is very smart, calculating and meticulously lays traps& thwart her enemies. In the end, she wins the emperor's/ML love & becomes his queen.

I'm just pity the women's in the harem , the emperor never loved anyone he just favour them because of their families, before the FL entering the palace he never understands what love is, after met her he slowly falls in love, he got jealous,happy, angered, afraid.... FL is smart and capable,she knows how to catch a men , she took each step by calculating, she doesn't know that she already liked him ,. To my surprise he already knows each women's doing in the harem , including FL . But he fell for FL. In the end both confessed each other ❤❤❤

This was a LONG but excellent watch!!! She came into the palace unliked and unknown because she was granted before and rejected. She was then given to the current Emperor and while he didn't dislike her, he ignored her. She used her smarts to get him to care about her, believe in her and ultimately love her while she battled all the schemes and plots in the palaces with grace and smarts. This for sure is going in my saved list to watch again. Missing a longer decent ending but overall for me 9/10.

I love this drama so much. I never skipped a second like I always did with other dramas. I just wished they extended a little bit more and showed if she gave birth to a son or princess. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

this is realistic, compared to other period dramas, where ML’s are hypocrite making a vow to only marry one woman, impossible for a prince, noble man, officials especially for an emperor, because new bride means new alliance, monogamy is possible if they can forget their status and become a commoner but they wont and cant😂 and FL’s are jealous whenever there is new concubine, or will hold on to MLs monogamous impossible promise😂, i see that often in the main stream full length dramas, so annoying😂

there has to be a reason why the opaque white makeup and i wish someone who knows would inform me. coz it goes both ways for male and female. idk if its a tradition for Chinese like the japanese theatre but then that should be obsolete coz this is film which has different rules for lighting. unless their aesthetic is truly different from the west.
