Really enjoyed this one Matt. You played so well, your tempo looks great. Flammin heck, play like that and you'll have no bother if you did Open qualifying. Handicap wise where would you say you are +3/4?

Matt love the content that you bring to the channel the humor that you have in your videos always keeps me coming back for more also your swing is so fluid and effortless and yet you strike the ball with such precision great job looking forward to another in the red.

Hi Matt, I look after the Juniors at Irvine. I have shared your video on our page to show them how to manage the course, an absolute lesson in course management especially of the 'tricky' early holes which can be card wreckers or indeed if played correctly the building blocks to a good score. Glad you enjoyed our course 👍👍

Love watching golf vlogs that aren’t just about hammering driver… great course management, lots of great nuggets to take away. Great vid!
@golfendeavor82672 ай бұрын
That was fun to watch. Member of Bogside for the past two years and still learning to play it. You had a great game plan and hit in the right areas from what I can say. Hitting fairways is key there as you noticed. Need to keep it in the short gras, otherwise 1st, 6th, 11th, 13th, 14th and 17th are tricky if you don’t hit the tee shot (driver, wood) well. You were cruising nicely since the holes are generally not very long but greens can be tricky to read. Happy days 🏴⛳️😃

Great job, Matthew! Even more so than your score, it was your attitude. And the way you kept your composure. Pulled the pin on all your putts. Didn't let an errant shot affect your following shots. Well played, mate!💯👍

It was good to see you plotting your way around the course, thinking more on every shot, and not just blasting the driver off the tee. Always look forward to the next episode.

Great round Matt, really interesting insight into plotting your way round the course. I play off 18, and after a few years of struggle, finally feel like it's coming back together, just being more sensible on course. Played 3 wood off tee or hybrid and really tried to keep it simple, shot 83, my best round in a while.

I enjoyed your rather sardonic summary of the round: "A professional approach with a touch of the absolute beginner" or words to that effect. I thought your measured approach was impressive, and it enabled you to stay on track after a couple of rough tee shots. Good playing.

The great thing about this course if you hit a little left or right your able to find your ball for another shot. The course I play all fairways are tree lined, you go left or right you are losing a stroke.

Not the first I’ve seen go round the first 9, thinking this is great. Back 9 is tougher. Think the locals say for handicap golfers, one third of your shots on front, two thirds on back. My favourite course in the area, and exceptional value for money. Well played.

Just back from the Ayrshire coast. Played Irvine Bogside. Lovely. Agree, a little local knowledge goes a long, long way. Would like to try it again. Depending on your shot shape favour left of centre at 12 and you really can trust the marker post off the tee (or no more than 5 ft. right) at 13 even although it looks as though it needs to be relocated to the right. 17 & 18 are gorgeous. Nice people too. Hands down the grumpiest barman I have ever met. Possibly due to my English accent. He was priceless. Well played btw.

I recently started leaving the driver in the car and use the 3 wood off the tee. Score has improved by a good few shots and average distance with the 3 wood is up to about 245yds. That's more than enough if its straight.

Scottish Golf has become unaffordable, especially with the weather. I was fortune enough to play these courses when they were cheap, they couldn’t give green fees away. I have pals that have just missed their first year in 40 of a trip to Scotland, they have looked at the world and they can play in the US including flights for less, let alone Europe and South Africa. So it’s off to sunnier climes, and to courses more welcoming
@j700jam42 ай бұрын
There is a notion that American golfers don't want to play courses unde £150 as they don't believe they can be up to much so the clubs are increasing the fees to attract more Americans.

@Matt Fryer. Is there a real reason why you and all the other golfers take off the gove after each shot and put it back on for the next shot? Or is this just a gimmick?

For me it’s all due to weather conditions, either with hot weather or rain. In both instances it is an attempt to keep the glove as dry as possible.
