Syntac, I know your the ark god and what I’m going to tell you might be wrong or you already know, but I think the reason the giga kept getting out of the trap was because you were placing the metal gateway to close to the giga. So basically the gateway kinda messed into the gigas legs and forced the giga to walk over the trap. I could be wrong but I would assume that is the problem. Edit: I watched farther into the video and realized you caught onto why it was getting out, but I’m still gonna keep my comment lol

Syntac, Try 2 gates like a triangle with the bear trap in the middle, Lure them with your preferred Dino, once the Gigas in the trap place a 3rd gate to block them from escaping. I have done this for awhile and it works perfectly and saves resources.

I managed a massive base build right at the spot he flies over at 3:39. Lots of flat land, a river to tap into for a garden and plenty of bee hives nearby. Just be sure to build a fence around your base (I used metal behemoth gates).

Good place to gather berries is on Genesis 1 , ocean biome. On the top of rock isles. Plenty of flowers and other stuff, just use multiple grapling and take some smaller dino like trike or anky in cryopods.

when you place a structure like that close to a giga it messes with the hit box and allows it to do a climb but when it is a little back it works as it should and the only way out would be a buggy peace of terrain.

the main reason gigas get out of small gates is because they are small gate, you need to use the bigger ones or make a trap the way I do, make a box with pillars at least 6 high, place a ceiling on top of one with ramps comming down, lure giga up the ramp and it falls in to the pillar trap, super easy, in fact ive gotten a giga as my second tame on full vanilla (after spending days making tons of darts XD) Also you can drain a creatures food a LOT faster by NOT putting any food in its inventory until it's hungry enough to eat as much as it needs to tame. food drains faster when it has none

Syntac, the reason the giga kept escaping the trap was because you made the trap to small to fit its hitbox and as a result it got squeezed upwards.

There's a much better trap where you take metal foundations and 1 triangle foundation (that can be thatch) and you just place 2 metal foundations then the triangle, then off the triangle another 2 metal regular foundations until you've made a hexagon essentially. Pick up the triangle at the end. Now place metal walls or doorways on the outer edge of each metal foundation. Now simply put slopes triangle ceilings on those walls with the points facing towards the middle of the hexagon. Works on other Dinos too. Essentially a giant bear trap..Giga can walk in but not out. Best/easiest trap I've ever used.

I came across a new Breeding Mod the other day for Ark. Basically what it does is makes sure the baby inherits the best stat from each parent. Including both wild levels & tamed levels. So if you tame one & breed it without leveling, the baby will have the best base stat from both it's Dad & Mom, or if you level the parents it will gain the best leveled stat from the parents. I doubt Syn would use this simply because it can break breeding fairly easily if say you get a perfect DMG parent & a perfect Health parent, then Max lvl them in that stat then breed & do that over & over through generations, but that is up to the player, however I thought I would mention it for anyone viewing that might like the idea of the Mod as it does cut down the time you need to put into the breeding for those who don't have heaps of time. I have put the name at the bottom of the comment so it will only show it you open up this entire message as it is kind of an advertisement in a sense which to me isn't okay to advertise on someone's channel, however I am mentioning it because it is a helpful Mod for those who don't have heaps of time and that is why I have put the name at the bottom so it's not in your face as you scroll through comments. So minimal advertisement? (Also I have nothing to do with this Mod, it was just in the "Most Popular" of the week part of the workshop for me. Make a circle with about 8 gates some fence foundations pillars ceilings and make a ramp all the way around the gates works every time though it's a bit expensive but permanent have one set up on the center by the volcano tamed 5 gigas with it so far lol

After nearly a month of killing Giga's, I ended up finding a 130 R-Giga yesterday that had terrible melee, but had an impressive 36 wild health stat (I use S+ awesome spyglass/scope on a PVE server, because I don't completely despise myself), so I thought it would be worth trying to tame even with the low melee. She ended up rolling a 20 on her melee, but at the benefit of rolling an impressive 50 on it's health stat. Once I'm able to pair it with a decent-melee R-Giga, I can finally have a respectable Giga line lol. Might take a while to find it though, but I suppose that's the cost of getting a decent dino in Ark. Maybe I'll find a reasonable Carcha along the way I hope!
