Thank you for your comment. This is a bit of a test of the algorithm which KZbin claims to match videos to viewers' interests. Clearly it's way from perfect, but going forward I expect it will improve. Then I can review anything!

A real audiophile would have tested the scanner with a $500 USB cable to improve scan contrast, resolution and texture. Think how much better the sheet music scan would sound when played if it hadn’t been captured with the cheap included cable.

Maybe by adding some diffusion to the built in lights might help. Looks like it might be good for quick and dirty scans Certainly easier to carry than my Epson 12000xl Wish you had mentioned if it runs under windows max size of scan and the resolution in dpi Guess I'll have to dig up the spece sheet

Thank you for the demonstration. You really need to fix the glare on the pages, because it seriously affects OCR results. To be precise, it is a document camera, not a scanner. You might have better results with an I.R.I.S. scanner which has better lighting and does not come with finger cots as the software does a good enough job removing finger images without them. (I appreciate you did it both ways with your device.) Gratuitous Sidebar - the narrative is a bit frenetic, reminiscent of Hancock's Half Hour... 🙂 All in good fun. Cheers! Take Courage, old man! TT

I love how some in the comments lose their 💩 over a channel trying out different things, even though the vast majority of technology capable people will use a variety of tech on a daily basis, be it audio, video, photo or otherwise. Pretty sure most audio companies and studios will possess their own printer and scanner / document copier for business purposes.

So now if I don't like some stuff. I don't watch and I didn't feel the need to insult people who's tastes differ from mine. But you have the right to be a retard. Copy stand with integrated camera, not a scanner. It has some interesting features, especially the software-based book/document flattening. Its biggest downfall is the lighting setup. The built-in lights close to the camera lens is a real no-no for document copying; you'll get lots of reflections and highlights on glossy ink and glossy pages, as your test scans show. For quality nothing really beats a proper copy stand with 30 to 45 degree oblique symmetric crossed-beam lighting setup, but that is far less portable.

Back in the days of old-fashioned film photography I did have a copy stand with four lights. It still didn't avoid glare or reflections. The best way I've found to photograph a document that is in any way shiny is to wait for a cloudy day then shoot it by a window. Amateur I know, but that's the best I've found so far.

@@AudioMasterclass The correct lighting setup is arguably the most difficult aspect of document reproduction; many factors involved. You can e.g. use a glass platen to flatten a document and shoot through that; if the lighting is set up correctly you will not get reflections off the glass, as unintuitive as that may sound. But it takes experience.
