I am still laughing at how you used the steamer. Here is how they work: Put a small amount of water in the bottom of the pot. Turn on the heat and bring water to a simmer. Those egg beaters were a standard growing up, and in my kitchen as an adult. Except they were better made, more sturdier than the 1 pound special shown. Alright I was probably quite harsh on the steamer / colander, it had feet after all so could collapse, but the handle falling off is a little scary, didn't want to use a lid as it was more about it fitting / not falling in but realise you could let it fall in on itself to create it's own one. That said it's not supposed to sit on top of boiled eggs.... and ultimately it did work! So, the tea bag strainer that actually did the opposite, was definitely the worse.... but for £1, what a bargain! Enjoyed this?
