They put some sort of wax or smth on the heating elements to keep them safe during shipping. That's why it smoked so much and reeked foul. It's the wax evaporating. 11:04 I’ve seen this product used before and I already have some thoughts/concerns because sadly, I’m pretty sure this isn’t going to work out. 1. I’m not sure Nick put enough ice into the ice side. It’s possible he did and we just didn’t get to see ALL the ice he put in. It needs to be PACKED full of ice and really needed ice cream salt or rock salt, and more than what Ryan put in (although he did put a decent amount in). 2. Every time I’ve seen someone try this with “mix-ins” or “add-ins” such as candy- it fails. This ice cream maker ball doesn’t typically have the ability to create a very firm ice cream, for a number of reasons. So it’s best to make a simple flavored base using a small amount of extract, and then once the ice cream is churned to yogurt consistency, scoop it out of the ball, mix in your chunky bits, and then freeze for several hours.
