Great video as ever. One build on colossus warrior. This hero talent is hugely attractive because there is an option to improve ignore pain by a LOT. historically, the stronger ignore pain is the stronger warriors become. This is a huge reason to take colossus.

As a Prot pally M+ main I either didn’t push high enough for it to matter or you guys are really exaggerating the consecration problem. Last season I got my 20’s done pugging and if I “stepped out of my consecration and fell over” it was because I planned my defensives wrong. Your fixation in that makes me think despite your claims you’ve just fallen out of love with pallies and that’s ok. We’re not supposed to be pressing WoG. If you use bastion of light, you’re supposed to shield of the righteous not WoG. I can almost always keep myself up as the group dies around me with WoG as is, are Prot pallies supposed to always 4deep and just heal while they tank? I like your vids but I disagree about the general pally stuff. I haven’t tried the new talents though, they may be dull.

u did 20s. try doing 26-30s (now 16-20) i play all tanks, and prot pally really struggles with self sustain, my healer hate me when i play prot pal instead of vdh,guardian,etc.

BDK is my main tank as of now i one of the guys that got my dh to like 510-15 and don't like it very clunky went to bdk and had a blast now i made a prot war got it to 505 so far and omg it's so fun the animation's movement dmg survivability and looks even better for theWW so definitely going to alternate between BDK and prot war depending on affixes and etc can't wait for the war within thank for this video !

Great video as always! I think there is a ton of synergy between deathbringer and blood dk that's not getting recognition. -The increased blood plague hero talent (blood plague deals its damage in half duration) pairs extremely well with the new consumption talent (increases speed blood plague does damage) as well as Umbilicus Eternus (gives shield for all blood plague damage during vamp blood). This gives us MASSIVE (14M+) shields following vamp blood that help in tough pulls. Blood plague is also one of our highest damaging abilities with these talents. -The passive magic and physical DR from generating and spending runes which stacks up to 10% and has very high uptime in dungeon testing -The passive physical DR from enemies hit by the reapers mark explosion (5% but still worth mentioning) -The 30 sec cd reduction on lichborne (giving us a 15% DR on a 90 sec cd) -The free marrowrend that applies blood plague The San'layn tree will probably be great in raid, but in mythic+ on BDK the healing of the vamp strikes is simply not enough to sustain you (need to spend globals on death strike instead). Pair that with the minimal defensive value (5% physical DR in death and decay, haste, 5% strength proc, + maybe the extra IBF DR, ) the tree adds and I think the majority of players are better off playing deathbringer. Especially since dks struggle to deal with burst damage and deathbringer gives you better tools to survive.

Gorefiends grip is a talent + 1.5min cd without improved. VDH x2 charges pull in sigil on less than a minute cd, idk what theyre smoking over at blizz. Just remove gorefiend from talents and make it learned by default for all bdks

Prot pally is in a rough spot. WoG is useless. I had healers in beta asking why I'm not using it(I obviously was), then you look at details and it shows 88% or my healing is WoG with an average of 1.19mill per cast. We have around 8million health. It's clearly not adjusted properly. Our hero talents are lackluster. Adding globals that don't generate holy power or USE 5 holy power is a terrible idea. When we feel starved for holy power to begin with. And they're on globals on top of that. Feels unintuitive and burdensome.

prot pally feels like can be changed to a 2nd supportive spec. i played prot pally s3 and s4 DF and i wasn't supprised. but the amount of supportive spells made it fun. brewmaster's mastery is weird and many new tanks dont know how to play around it, that makes it a bigger issue than the spec itself. When I heal i found both prot pally and bm tanks are the most terrible to heal, esp with as a monk. VDH just have too many stops and silences, could always be the meta tank I struggled DFs1 with bear tank, felt like a paper tank to me then i dropped it and rerolled VDH, why not XD I think i'd try blood DK in TWW, should be fun to play. love the rework, love both Htalents.

i don't get how blizz can look at how dominant VDH control was with sigil of silence and chains, and then combine those into one talent on a one minute cd and chuck it on BDK while nerfing it heavily VDH. if we're going to have this utility be present in the game, it defines the tank meta.

I think you misunderstood the Lightsmith Prot Paladin. Giving the armaments to allies gives it to you, too. So it's not just about buffing allies, but also benefits you. So you never have to choose between helping your allies or yourself.

Been playing vengeance for 6 years, gonna continue. It scared me when they added double sigils to us, I was worried that we'd become fotm and we did. Though it was nice to have good changes, we were on a bit of a dry streak for quite some time. I hope if they end up adjusting us they don't take us out back and shoot us like they sometimes do. All they need to do is make Illuminated sigils not apply to Misery, Silence, Chains and I think we're fine.

It's especially problematic when you consider the affixes looking to buff caster mob damage by a good bit thereby making stops more important. I agree with not putting the cart before the horse to an extent but if we go down to 1 charge for control there is a better chance that blizzard sees the problem they have created with the onslaught of stops needed. Even though people have already been shouting it high and low for the past year and a half.

@@Shinn27 The problem is VDH gets to do pulls that no other tanks get to do with that amount of consistency and power. All of that is baked into one role and player that can just negate a pack for half the pull duration. Try those same VDH pulls with other tanks, and it requires a whole group of people to coordinate CC properly to do that same route and ease of timing keys. Again, that is one person with that much power it is insane. It makes 15s and 16s feel like 10 keys with the right amount of play. Comparatively, other tanks have to work with the team to coordinate all the stops of the groups and use limited tool sets to group up and stop mobs. Even prot pally, the second best tank of the last two seasons pales in comparison of VDH, and the small amount of play in higher keys proves that. Why play something like BDK or Prot Pally when I can faceroll win with VDH no matter how bad my group is? This is for the overall health of the game even if they change VDH before their dungeon philosophy.

When they changed healing in TWW it also effected the healing of tanks like paladin, shadow priest ect. Basically any class who doesn't have a % based heal based on HP got hit hard by the changes.

Im really, really not sure about what to play so maybe you Guys can help me out! 1. I played Guardian Druid most of the Time but i dont want to continue with it 2. I would love to play Blood Dk but we already got one. Even tho it would be okay going for 2 Bdk in the Raid i dont really like it. 3. I dont like how squishy Paladin is in the Raid. Maybe if they tune WoG better. 4. Monk isnt really something for me. 5. Warrior is hit or miss. Dont like its missing Utility. 6. Issue with cat weaving I’ve said this many times it’s only good for off tanking. Either cat weaving or moonlit weaving. If your taunt swapping. As you gain 500% increase threat in bear form. Unless they change that or add it doesn’t seem to be retaining your threat increase when you swap to cat for those 6 seconds. I’ve tested multiple pills doing this and never once have I lost Agro in bear yet even in those 6 seconds it’s easy for a good dps which higher keys everyone is good dps.. to rip Agro from you in those 6 seconds. It’s a cool talent for sure but I don’t see it being a thing honestly.

@@Casevil669 Id do warrior over pally for the time being. Warrior gonna get a little button bloat in War Within but right now, probably most forgiving tank past bear. Prot pally is great for low keys but high keyes, theres so much utility that your party is going to expect you to use and if you don't they are gonna wonder why you didnt just go bear or warrior. Warrior prob number 2 easiest tank to play WELL. Bear is number 1, but War more fun than bear. Start there.

Awesome video as always! Just a couple things, and I may be way off, but I don't see it in the conversations enough... Whether or not how good a specific spec might be, I don't see why people don't lock down what they just like to play more. I mean there's always some stigma about what you "should/shouldn't" be playing (I know that's not what this video is about, but it's in the convos every season it seems). Don't get me wrong, a lot of people (actually only 'some') are good at everything they do, and some people just "think" they are, but just because X spec is N% better than another doesn't mean you/they will be. For instance, I love playing my warrior, but let's say pally is better. That doesn't mean I will do better on pally, because I enjoy playing my warrior more, so I will just naturally do better on it that I would my pally. Sometimes the 1-8% difference between one spec to another (if we do put a number on it) is less of a difference than say the 5-10% difference in a "player's proficiency" of that class that person might have. Especially when/if that player is 25% better at another class they're playing. It's all perspective and proficiency. imo. Of course "total throughput/mitigation" will always be a thing. So there will always be a "better" class than another. I'm just saying it's not always THE better class for any given person. But a lot of people miss that when they do tell you you should be playing something else because it's "better". And the other thing.. isn't helping others part of being a hero? lol Re: the pally hero talents. Just sayin. 😄

For the average player, you are correct. But the top always dictates the meta. For someone like me with 15 r1 arena titles, 3600io, and lots of HOF CE achievements we can get within 1-3% of min max on any class we play. We will always choose the meta when given an option to. I suggest for 95% of players to play what they want. Only at the highest level does meta even matter.

It’s an unpopular opinion, but I feel like every tank needs to have the same utility, or at least the same base things: AoE grip, mass silence, mass fear and some form of mass stun or knock down/up. Let everything else be flavor.

Note for Blood DK: During testing, Bone Storm and Bone Consumption do not interact with the Bone talent. This might be a bug. Additionally, the San'layn hero talent makes your gameplay very degenerate. It turns your Vampiric Blood into a DPS cooldown, which is annoying. It also makes you use only Vampiric Strike during Vampiric Blood, despite overcapping on Runic Power
