I saw Hole live around this time in Seattle. It was an intense show, very raw. Drew Barrymore came out on stage and waved hello, she was dating Eric Erlandson at that time. At one point, the crowd lit up their lighters and Courtney started to cry saying “this is the first time I’ve had lighters at a show” it was a great time, i was 21.

In my opinion, "God, i hate you" is the most hurtful line in this whole performance. You can hear the love-hate mixed emotions come out so strongly in this, along with her facial expressions. She does not hate him, she hates what he did to himself and her. Courtney, i hope that you've found the peace you deserve after all of these years.

But one thing for sure is, most of the fighting happened due to them both being heavily hooked on various drugs, heroin being their favorite to do together but it was creating a problem for both their relationship and careers. She does not deserve to be labelled as a murderer, or anything at all for that matter. Just a girl who was struggling with living life and the tragic moments that came with it.

Addicts in rehab can leave anytime they'd like unless court-ordered. Kurt could have walked out the front door, if he'd chose to. Addiction is an awful thing that digs it's claws into and destroys everything you care about, but if a person hits that wall and really wants to get better, they will. Or at least really fight and try. It typically takes multiple trips to rehab and it's beyond miserable but is definitely possible. I've been off of drugs for 18 years now and I tried many times before succeeding. After the novelty of quitting wears off is when it really gets hard. Most people don't communicate that enough, in my opinion.

I don't give a flying fu*k, I've always ❤. Courtney, and i still think it's total BS that way too many think she had him killed. I mean, Kurt was never shy about being suicidal, since his teens. And that, coupled with the whole fame that was too much for him, and his heroin addiction, how is it even questionable? Anyone who actually listened to Hole before and after the Live Through This album, (which is a fu*king AMAZING ALBUM), would know that Courtney penned those lyrics. And her behavior the following year after his suicide is very telling of her real pain and grief she was experiencing. She's one of my main female idols. I'm 💯 gen X, and the first time I heard Smells like teen spirit catapulted me into the grunge sound. And Nirvana and Hole were part of the main bands that I have and still do love!!
