Exactly. The reason why parents get emotional and can't handle it well is because you're already dealing with a teenager who won't communicate with you properly.

@GuinessOriginal OK, so I agree that kids have been getting bullied forever. BUT, I see a big difference from when I was young and now my daughter in HS. The school doesn't do shit to help, then sometimes you try to talk to the parent and they don't do shit or like you said, they escalate it. My daughter wasn't a fighter, she was pushed into being a fighter and that shouldn't be. What I've seen kids do to a number of children (unwarranted) is disgusting. I've also seen kids gets jumped, 5 girls on one girl. There's not a shot in hell I'm allowing that to happen to my child.

Schools do not deal with bullying. I had to remove my children from school entirely because of this. One of my children lost her hair due to stress induced alopecia. All the school did was make my daughter sit opposite the bullies and made them apologise. Which they did. Then as soon as they left the room they battered her AGAIN for telling the staff. Bullying is a disgrace in these schools. It is awful.

This really is so awful. I hope your daughter is ok now? Schools really need to do more about bullying
@jodejones262
@jodejones262 6 ай бұрын
@@Mixablemike hi, thank you! She is doing a lot better. Her hair has all grown back. At one point she had even lost her eyebrows and eyelashes. I ended up taking all three of my children out of school. My eldest tried to help my middle child (my daughter who lost her hair) and defend her. At which point a whole group of kids stood in a circle around my two and physically attacked them. This was after two years of these same three kids being vile to my daughter. Every week we would be at the school reporting new incidents. It began because my daughter is small for her age and is autistic. So struggles to speak to people very much. She is very quiet. She seems shy. But it’s because she struggles to know what she should say in social situations so she tends to stay in the background being quiet. So they called her names. Pushed her around. At one point they put chewing gum in her hair. Told her to kill herself. It was absolutely awful. The kids would admit they did it when teachers called them up on it. Apologise. And then just carry on. I tried to speak to the parents as the school weren’t doing much and to be fair the parents of two of the kids did speak to us and seemed to care and told us about other issues they were having with these kids. One of the kids though, her mum was as vile as her. So clearly she didn’t care and wouldn’t speak to us. When my daughter’s hair fell out and she began to hate herself I said enough is enough. We tried and tried to do what the school suggested and it was endless. So I homeschooled them. Her hair has grown back. She is confident. She speaks to people now a lot more than she did before. My eldest is almost 17 now and in college and is studying psychology so she can be some sort of therapist for teenagers. My son is above average in all of his subjects even though he is homeschooled. I’m lucky because I was able to be at home with them. This isn’t an option for a lot of people. I found out that all three of those kids ended up being expelled from school in the end because they moved on from my daughter to another child. Bullying is awful. It really has an impact on these kids. I think sometimes parents lose their temper with it because it seems the schools can’t or won’t stop it. Sometimes the other kids parents don’t care. It’s horrible.
@Mixablemike
@Mixablemike 6 ай бұрын
@@jodejones262 wow that is heartbreaking to read. Kids can be absolutely vile and I’m sure you must have been beside yourself when you can see the effects it has on your children but good on you for taking your babies out of that situation before those bullies done them anymore harm. Some schools are disgraceful for not doing enough to put a stop to this and allowing home schooling to be your only last option though. I would be so ashamed to be those other children’s parents and the schools should have absolutely done more, they have a duty of care and should come down harder on bullying. I’m just so glad to hear both your children are now both happy and succeeding and overcome what sounds like such a traumatic time for them. For a young girl to deal with bullying is horrific enough but to then have to deal with hair loss is just awful. I actually don’t blame this mum for confronting the pupil, I’ve felt like doing the very same thing when my daughter has come home numerous times really upset because girls have been horrible and when you try going to parents that don’t give a damn and to the school and dealing with it calmly yet nothing gets done about it, it’s very frustrating. I really hope that your daughters experience has had no long lasting effects and continues to be happy and do well in life😊

I changed that day bullying stopped immediately. Violence is not always answer but nor are authorities sometimes

@loveinaabmorgan9209 He wasn't saying "inform the authorities", he was saying she should have spoken "from a place of authority" meaning acted like an adult and talked to the other girl like a parent not a classmate. Also a quick tip from a native speaker - it's "left, right and centre" not "left, right, up, centre".

Schools never deal with bullies, they deal with the victims instead it's easier. But has a mother she should never have dealt with it herself send your daughter to defense classes. I've always told my daughter do not argue with anyone just walk away unless they put their hands on you floor them and make sure they don't get back up.

@@petecooper3048they ain't getting a trip to prison as minors. Criminal kids use this to their advantage. Straight kids can too. After 16, the law is still lenient on first offence, just don't get them on lasting damage. You get sent down juvenile correction, you out at 18. With good family support, and a kid that understands they're worth for something more, it needn't be catastrophic, they can start a life.

@ememe1412 false... I've had friends in my younger years go to prison under the age of 16 and one of those it was a first offence... it really depends on the degree of crime but believe me they do put minors in prison and violence is a good enough excuse

Are y’all listening to their words. It’s sounds like the bully got beat up now the mom is upset. The girl said, “she’s the one who wanted to fight. I told her no.” The mom cuts her off, “let’s get this clear did you fight her?” Like why would she not fight someone who is picking a fight with her. The Mom should have taught her daughter to not pick fights if you cannot fight. All these comments are wild that’s someone else’s child. Defending this grown ass woman getting on child’s level is WOW!!!

No wonder the girl is a bully - just listen to the Mother, what an awful role model. It seems her daughter bullied the other girl but for what ever reason didn't come out on top and didnt like it. This looks like one of those Inter City state schools. Large classes, teachers either turning the other way or just overwhelmed by lack of respect from parents hence kids then out of control and showing no respect. Thank God my grandchildren go to good schools.

A little boy in second grade was pushing my daughter down in gravel almost every day, if she didnt have scrapes , her jeans would be torn. I walked up in that classroom one day , standing at the front i yelled WHO IS KEVIN!! All the k8ds pointed to a little boy and he got under his desk. I told him the next time my daughter comes home bloody , the next school day you better bring ya momma and the law. He left her alone. I'm from the UK, and was at school a couple of years before they banned corporal punishment. We had the cane and slipper(trainer). Those two things would knock the attitude straight out of your mouth, and remind you to respect the rules, and your teachers. Your parents would also give you a little reminder when you got home. All the people I grew with agree, once that went, you could see the gradual change over the years of the behaviour of children, basically being able to do, say and act however they like, with no fear any repurcussion that might make them think twice about how they act and behave. Unfortunately some of those children, are bringing up their own children with the same mentality. We got on well with our teachers at school, had respect for them, had a healthy fear of them knowing that, if you cross a line you are going to have to answer for it. I truly doubt we would never have the the amount of youth crime we have today, if had kept discipline the way it used to. Thats my opinion, and that of nearly all I grew up with, speaking to them, knowing full well our lives could have definitely gone in a different direction, if that slightly more severe form of discipline wasn't applied.

I get your point about installing discipline, but there's several ways to do it that can be effective and physical punishment is not always necessary. But it's the parents job, not the teachers. If a teacher caned my son, I would go and cane them because it's not their right to touch my or anyone else's child. I do appreciate what you're saying though
