Thanks for the video Andrew, your friend with the yellow fins highlights how worrying it is when you don't even see the shark. They could have been attacked possibly. I see an advert for shark eyes that you can stick to the underside of your fins, apparently this helps ward of sharks or makes them more wary . A great video of this amazing animal. I'd be less poised ! Cheers Bob

@@bobramsay4404 thanks bob, it does show how important it is to have awareness when you’re in the water and it also highlights how important it is to be in the water with a buddy. Shark eyes would definitely help in a solo situation

you're absolutely correct, very rarely will they attack you head on, unless for some reason they're that hungry and you're looking that good. most likely the shark was planning an opportunistic attack cause you had your back turned to it. it thought you looked like easy pickings until you turned toward it. at that point it sorta was stuck it hasn't really committed and so it just cruised by you instead choosing caution over valar, and likely to judge if you were food or not by your reaction. food runs. had you freaked out at it's close pass i guarentee it would have turned in for a bite

@@arizona_anime_fan totally correct and I have had an encounter where I had no choice but to move away from one and it chased / followed me

@@andrewlomakin yep. whats scary about sharks is how quickly they turn from caution to aggression when you act even slightly like prey.
