Wonderful view of Gardens by the Bay! Those tall structures within the gardens are called Supertrees! They're part of the Supertree Grove section of the gardens. There are 18 Supertrees, and they have heights that range between 25 meters (82 ft) and 50 meters (160 ft). They were conceived and designed by Grant Associates, with the imaginative engineering of Atelier One and Atelier Ten. They are vertical gardens that perform a multitude of functions, which include planting, shading and working as environmental engines for the gardens. The Supertrees are home to enclaves of unique and exotic ferns, vines, orchids and also a vast collection of bromeliads such as Tillandsia, amongst other plants. They are fitted with environmental technologies that mimic the ecological function of trees: photovoltaic cells that harness solar energy which can be used for some of the functions of the Supertrees (such as lighting), similar to how trees photosynthesize, and collection of rainwater for use in irrigation and fountain displays, similar to how trees absorb rainwater for growth

Yeah the fireworks were for a rehearsal! Singapore's actual National Day falls on August 9th and it marks the day Singapore became its own country in 1965. Originally, it was celebrated on June 3rd in 1961 and 1962 to mark self-government and the end of colonial rule by the UK. So Singapore didn't get their independence from the UK, but rather they got it because they were kicked out of Malaysia. Basically, in 1963, Malaya, Singapore, North Borneo and Sarawak were merged and Malaysia was formed. But there were tensions between Singapore and Malaysia because of discriminatory policies imposed by Malays on the majority Chinese population of Singapore. This eventually led to race riots in 1964 between the Malays and the Chinese. This is on top of the Malaysian government accusing PAP (the ruling party of Singapore) of mistreating Malays, and neighboring Indonesia starting a conflict with Malaysia over Borneo, and conducted attacks on Singapore. So essentially, the Malaysian government didn't want to deal with Singapore's problems and voted to kick them out.

Dang that hotel is amazing I would love to stay there. I mean they have snacks, great coffee, I saw a bar along with all that they bathroom looked amazing and it was huge and then the bed looked so soft. The last time I went to a hotel was the Marriott and the bed felt like you were sleeping and surrounded by a cloud and that what that bed looks like and yes you can buy the bedding at Marriott too but yes it's crazy expensive so idk who would spend that amount but you would get a better night's sleep for sure so I guess in the long run it would be worth it.
