That happen to me several times last year with mine I put them in cold water as well I started changing the water 3 times a day and putting ice in it I think that is the only way they survived

Love your chickens, we had them on my uncles farm when we were kids in Missouri. 4:59 Now as an adult living in Jax Florida, somehow, I am the mother to around 40+ wild ducks. When killer ones have no mother, I take them in, raise then release them , guess the duck word got around. Loving it, feeding them, gave them swimming pool, they all come around all the time .🥰

Truly sorry that you're going through everything .. I know it sounds crazy but them chicken coops as hot as it is out you still got to get exhaust fans to get and pulled the extreme Heat and temperature out of the coops inside of the coops get extremely hotter than the outside good luck with your chickens👍 God bless brother you and your family and your new baby I've been following you for a long time.. 😎❤🙏🇱🇷✌

Hi Pat, thanks for the video. I'm surprised it didn't put her into shock. I'm in Aiken S.c, it's been in the triple digits here. I have 10 hens and 1 rooster. We turned half of our greenhouse into a coop. Inside the hen house it's been 104 inside the hen house with 3 fans running 24- 7. I always make sure they have fresh water. I check on them through out the day to make sure their ok. I love my birds, i'm now wondering if I should move their laying boxes outside. I haven't had a issue with them laying as of yet. I get 10 eggs a day. I want to add a few more brown egg layers. I have 8 white leghorns, which i really don't care for, but great layers along with a Rhode Island Red, and Buff Orphington. which are great layers. These temps are very hard on any birds, so i'm getting a childs pool for them to get in to cool down. I do hope it works. Please for those who have chickens, watch them closely. Thanks Pat. Hey Pat. I have my own homestead as well, down south (far south - in the Andes mountains) and would love to see more stories like this. Do you do composting? We compost everything then put it in the chicken coop, they have a way of converting trash into fertilizer :-) would love to hear anything you can impart upon us that will get us more prepared, or hints for getting the homestead ready for SHTF

I’ve been freezing ice in cardboard, milk, containers, and then taking the container off and putting it in the water to cool off the water so they’ll drink it.

my chicken does the same thing but instantly hops up when she hears me beating on the front gate the the food bucket kid. thought mine was dead too the 1st time but this is her 2nd summer outside and thats just something she does i guess, cause she isnt sickly or overheated, caught her doing it today2 feet from a shaded area with a heat index of 115 with arkansas humidity. may the Father above continue to bless u and urs as well

Here in space coast Florida it's been so hot 🥵 I make mint water bottles and freeze them and put it in a bucket for them to drink. Water. The grass so they can cool their feet and I change the water 3/4 times a day every day the ducks loves the ice water in their kitty pool. We love them so much 😅 I freeze water melon 🍈 cut in pieces and around 2 I go out and bring them treats to refresh them 😁

@@PatsHomestead yes, I have two breeding pairs, Legorns, barr rock. Not ideal but if I can incubate I'm on the way. The bar Rocks I got as three week chicks. Mascovy ducks are cool to keep. They raise families without help. Good meatbird, fun. I have them and Pekins.

When i walk my dog in the heat ( short walk if really hot) i bring my water bladder ( like a back pack) and saturate her head and her back to give her relief from the heat. Shes dark brown and really attracts the sun. The sun is extremely direct and very hot these days even dogs need to be in shade while walking on the leash and cooled with water on walks. I also stop under a shady tree all along the way to try to cool her diwn more.
