Are there no anti-discrimination laws in Japan? I've heard of places there who serve locals only and it's always surprising how this isn't illegal. Culture shock I guess. Even notice this in the city I live in, with a large immigrant population including Japanese. Japanese stores seem to begrudgingly serve non-Japanese people but can't turn us away since their business could get shut down for that.

holy shit japan doesn't have much kimchi udon? thats shocking because here in the us a lot of places serve kimchi udon. i had a bowl of it on my trip to minot nd and it was the best ramen bowl i have ever had in my entire life of eating ramen. the kimchi blends so well with the broth and with the thick udon its insane.
