I TOOK A BAD SHOT on My Great One MOOSE!!! - Call of the Wild

After 372 kills, I managed to spawn my first Great One Moose in Layton Lakes in The Hunter Call of the Wild! It was a Fabled Speckled with the Spider Rack and would be my FIFTH Spider Rack out of 7 Great One Moose! That's a LOT of spider racks! So I decided to risk it all and use the Takedown Recurve Bow! In hindsight, that might have been a poor decision but it's the decision that I made! And I took my carefully placed shot and he ran off and DIDN'T DIE! So I searched for him and guess what??? I FOUND HIM!!! That was TENSE!!!

I just started playing this game again the other day for the first time in years, and the bow hunting is just top notch. The CB-65 with all three arrow sizes has taken down everything I wanted to shoot at, the range finder scope is overpowered, and having just a bow in my loadout allows me to carry a fat revolver and EVERYTHING I could need in the field. Genuinely one of the most fun ways to hunt in my opinion

The next Great One should and will be Elk, both species. that's why it's taking a little longer. That way it's still on a non-DLC Layton and a DLC SRP. I always use the Koter- 65 compound bow with the range finder sight to take my Great one's,( 7 Moose, 4 WT's) can't go wrong with it! Can't wait for the next Great One! Lady I also have 5 out of 7 Spider racks LOL! And a split 50/50 and a quad paddle, but have all but the Spruce fur. My biggest achievement though is getting a GO Moose on all 5 Moose maps!

The animal quartering toward you is always a risky shot. Good save. When I was grinding the whitetails on Layton my great one spawned before I ever shot the stacked diamonds. After the next reset I'm going to Layton to grind black bears. I'd love to see a great one black tail and a new map with them. Again congrats on the new lodge addition.

That’s a shot I would take ,but I like to shoot behind shoulder and try to hit lung instead of trying to get lungs from the front because it could hit shoulder.Great one LETS GO

I think the arrow went a little high and just missed the spine, just where your were zeroed farther away than the moose was, I could be wrong with all that being said I can’t wait for the next great one

Lady I have two questions.for moose HM should I leave the long skinny rack lvl3s in solo zones the ones that look like an extremely small spider rack.and I have zones with 3femal and 1 male as my main zones is that ok if I still get 10-16 kills per run?thanks in advance to anyone who answers!

I haven't been using Zeroing for a bit, so after doing extensive practice on the bow range in Parquet, I've noticed that shooting 40m while zeroed for 40m needs the top pin on the 5 pin sight instead of the middle one. The middle one makes more sense, so I don't know if it's been changed recently or what. I think you would have been aimed perfectly center, except slightly left (because it also uses the edge of the pin, not the full pin itself) if not for this. I have never used a bow IRL so I don't know how aiming with a 5-pin sight works, but in this game it seems recently it uses the top pin instead of the middle one, at least in my testing.

I think it was unlucky but this could also be because the takedown recurve bow has a slight accuracy bug and also lower penetration than other bows like the koter cb 70 bow

I would actually like the next great one to be the american alligator. Along with that, they should get a leucsitic variation and a new map to hunt them on. I think the best place would be Florida so there could also be burmese pythons and green iguanas added as well. Anyways, congrats on the great one moose!

Hey Lady, every time a shot seems a bit too high you are laying down on the ground. All weapons shoot a little high when shooting slightly up. I have experienced this while grinding whitetail. Hope that helps.
