Now that’s what I call open minded. Being a Harley rider myself, this is definitely the next big thing for me and enjoy the best of both worlds. Would be cool to see something in reverse by adventure riders handling the iron beasts 😇 After all we are all bikers no matter what we ride 😄

@@MattLaidlaw I agree. The basics course is a good course, but I think to showcase the capabilities of the Pan America, an advanced course would be a lot better. Experienced riders would be more interested in seeing the Pan America being put through its paces.

I've either had or ridden pretty much every type of bike there is, I have a Harley now after a few back operations because I had to ease off on my body a bit, but riding trails especially new ones has always been my favourite..Getting out in nature and exploring will bring you some of the best memories of your life..I hope to be back out there soon..Matt I bet you're hooked already and it's something you'll be able to do with your whole family..And the skills you learn off road will transfer to being a better rider on road..Good for you👍

Looks good but they are expensive like hell. At 1,500 bucks per person, with not much more cash I could do a course at other two schools. Which is nice because you get the riding philosophy of a couple set of “professional” instructors. I think I prefer it that way.

He was out for a day ride through Kings & Sequoia NPs, but that he adventure rides professionally... turns out he's one of the instructors at BMW ORA at RawHyde! He said RawHyde will be having 20 of the Pan America delivered in a few weeks.

Hopefully a light 975 Pan America is in the works more in line with the BMW F850GS Adventure or KTM 790 Adventure R. As impressive as the 1200+ machines are, they leave many people alienated tossing around a motorcycle that's big and heavy. Even Honda plans a 2021 baby 850 Africa Twin recognizing the sweet spot is in the middle displacement market.

The Pan America is too heavy for me. Same as the GS1250. Really most are too heavy for any serious off road riding. They will be good for most people though, since most people's idea of off-roading is a dirt road.
@MattLaidlaw4 жыл бұрын
Yea, for technical single track stuff you'll need a dirt bike. The appeal of an adventure bike is it does open up A LOT of terrain and you don't need to haul to bike around on a trailer or truck.
