You are correct but it's not addiction swapping as much as it's called harm reduction and something we in the United States need to start thinking more about as ways to help people who like to take things throughout the day. Absolutely nothing wrong with ingesting something throughout the day to make yourself feel better, that's what antidepressants do along with numerous other substances . We only live once some people want to experience more pleasure while they're here and they should be have that option as long as you're not hurting no one
@JahlenJohnson11
@JahlenJohnson11 5 жыл бұрын
Jason Scharrer oooh totally agree with you! I won’t say addiction swapping in the future. You’re correct 🥰. For me, kratom is something I try to take minimally now but my husband is a daily user and without it I don’t know if he could stay away from harsh drugs. I’m 100% for kratom, I was just inspired to talk about some of the negative things I did experience because I watched a video of this girl who made it seem like it’s something everyone should be doing every single day and I feel like it isn’t.
@tristanmullins7092
@tristanmullins7092 5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, I’ve been a daily kratom user for a little over 3 years and used it to quit Percocet, that being said, what we know is anytime we take something from outside of our body that influence our neurotransmitters, the receptors down regulate to balance out, and what happens if you’re getting less pleasure from everyday life and relying on the substance for pleasure. Kratom is certainly less strong then the other drugs but it still has the same effect when taken daily especially multiple times daily. It’s certainly helped my life with drugs but it might be better to get off eventually, a lot of Ex daily kratom users talk about enjoying music more, working out, and just life in general. For people like us we needed it at a certain time and some with chronic pain, forever. But we all need to be careful with giving it and encouraging other people to use it

Yeah it's no wonder people want to use drugs to make them feel better. I'm not advocating addiction or anything. Just look at all the everyday stresses we have here in this so called free and open society and it's all by design. I mean they want to ban kratom. Are you serious? People that see that and still support their government boggles my mind. People need to get back to nature and simpler ways of living or this society is doomed. Technology will not save us as it will only make things worse. Bad people are in charge and running the system. Wake up

I've been a lifelong introvert and empath. I'm a constant thinker and filled with anxiety. I tried regular medication and was overwhelmed with side effects. One of the meds made my arm go completely numb for over a week, not to mention the sexual side effects. I actually do not think my sexual fervor has ever completely recovered. Kratom changed everything for me. I was able to break through the social anxiety and clear my head enough to think and focus. It made many things easier for me. As far as withdrawals it is no different from anything else. Using harder drugs, FDA approved meds, and even alcohol will have withdrawal symptoms if you are a daily user of them. Even coffee comes with a ridiculously painful migraine if I go too long without it. I'd rather enjoy the benefits and pros of kratom than worry about the very few cons when it comes to them. Unless someone can point me in the direction of something more effective I will continue to use it. Thank you for making this video.

I've heard many people say Green Maeng Da is an excellent balance between the energetic and clarity of mind from the white strains and the relaxation felt with red strains. My recommendation to you is find a site that sells a sampler pack to try the different strains. You might be able to get away with taking it once or twice a day. I'd suggest 5 grams per serving.

Kratom has helped my ADHD as well as my anxiety regarding my divorce from a covert narcissist (13 year marriage). I've stopped taking it many times because I ran out. I've never had withdraws, I've never had a feening need that made me scared, anxious or cause anger. I researched before I took it, I had friends who had been on this brand for over a year (*not cheap. Imperial Cloud Nine Kratom blend). I have never had shakes getting off of it or any other withdraw issues. Maybe because I'm a happy person in general, Kratom simply made me relax but have a boost of energy, helped me focus and boosted my already general feelings of well being. Also helped with sleep ☺️ I've heard cheap versions of Kratom can have issues. Just make sure if you try it to get a quality product 👍🏻 Powder is way better than pills. By FAR. Mix it with a juice shot and throw it down. (Juice shot meaning cranberry juice or orange juice b/c it tastes like a bitter tea ☺️ NOT an alcoholic shot) ADHD testimony with Kratom: Before I tried Kratom I was trying to learn the Ukulele. I would be trying to play a song from chord charts online but every time I'd look away from the screen to the fret board I'd FORGET THE CHORD! It made it impossible for me to play thru a song. The day I took K for the first time I was playing the Uke and when it kicked in it's like the synapses in my brain finally were able to connect and I was able to remember chords in order to play through a song!!! It's worth trying and it's natural. Just buy quality and get the powder, not capsules. Capsules seem cheaper but it's not. I order mine from a shop called the Kushi Bazaar in Ft Mill, SC. ❤️👍🏻

Carrie Rogers that’s the whole point of why Kratom is just as bad as an opiate addiction. I was a heroin addict since I was 16. At 24 I got clean for 2 years. Completely sober. Then I came across kratom and started taking it everyday because I was so impressed with how close it felt to an opiate. Well guess what, for the past 3 years I have been addicted to kratom and let me tell you, it is JUST like being addicted to heroin. If I don’t take it, I get physical and metal withdrawal. Ya it might not be as severe, but it’s there nonetheless. And now I’m nervous to go through the pain of getting off a substance again. Don’t fool yourself. If you take this plant everyday you will become addicted to it. It looses the effect over time if you take it everyday and will make you miserable. Terrible mood swings and just overall zombie like mentality. It’s not worth it, do not take it everyday. Once or twice a week if anything.

I started taking kratom when I was going through crazy alcohol withdrawals after being a heavy alcoholic for almost 2 years. It completely negated all the withdrawal symptoms and I was able to stay off alcohol indefinitely. Eventually I stopped using kratom too, but then I started using kratom again for treating depression/anxiety, which works amazingly for me. It doesnt make me feel high or stoned, or any kind of druggy way, which is nice. Just normal, clear headed and content. But now if I dont take kratom first thing in the morning I get super depressed and anxious throughout the day and I know I need to get off kratom because I've been taking it daily for a year now and I know its probably taking a toll on my physical health. Not nearly as bad as alcohol, but still

@@These-nutz what @Joseph Farrier said. you should moderate what works for you. I cut back a lot. it works great for anxiety and is relatively harmless, but keep in mind it is addictive and it does have withdrawal symptoms if you overdo it and then try to stop. i tend to use more when i don't have alternative things like cbd, which also helps me tremendously. it's been a lifesaver for me honestly and not killing me like alcohol was. way better alternative to pharms too, way less addictive i'd say. less harmful than any drugs a doctor would give you for anxiety/depression.

I take kratom everyday like 4-6 times a day. In my experience, I'm able to think more clearly and I have more energy with kratom than I ever got from suboxone. Suboxone made me feel like a zombie and I didn't even realize it until I stopped taking it. (Update) Well, it's been like 2 years and I'm still using kratom, but I have noticed that my libido is lower and I seemed to be slightly depressed all the time. My anxiety has been more prevalent lately too. I think kratom can be a good alternative substance if you have to take some sort of pain reliever, but if you're just using it to feel good or to be high, I wouldn't suggest it. If you're using it to get off of opiates or suboxone or methadone or something, make sure you have a plan set up and someone to hold you accountable to that plan. It's very easy for an addict to justify using kratom because it's natural. If I could go back I would have stopped using it after 2 months. I wouldn't have kept taking it. So now I have to withdrawal and it's going to suck. Wish me luck!

@David I take 3 small doses per day, but I'm about to quit. Like anything, it must be used in moderation. Good luck, bro. Maybe try getting on a clean diet and exercise while you come off of it. It will seem hard, but it definitely helps. From what I've researched, it only takes a few days to get over the worst of withdrawals. Going on walks always helps me. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Maybe even try using a detox drink. There are also medically assisted detox centers. The main thing is that you have to be mentally prepared to go through some amount of pain. The best part is that it can't last forever. This too shall pass.

The kratom community is one of the most mixed up I've ever seen. A lot of "saved my life" stories and mental gymnastics about being a a "natural"(fallacy) herb non-drug to justify replacing one crux with another. Take it from someone who knows. The "acute" physical withdrawals may be milder, but something in kratoms chemistry make it real sticky so PAWS feel like they never go away. The mental agony and extreme malaise last way longer than supposed harder "real" opiates. That's why its so hard to stay off it. Now iboga, that's a fucking addiction killing miracle drug! But believe or not a lot of ibogaine providers will advice you switch from kratom to a shorter acting oppiate like vicodin for at least a couple weeks before a trip, as it might not work, as well possible heart issues. That should tell you something about the realities of this drug..

I used to take it everyday about 3-5 times a day for almost 2 years, it was hell on earth quitting, this was back in 2018-2019, I used to have so much energy and motivation from kratom, I used to be in a good mood while I was on it, if I didn’t have a hard time putting on muscle I’d still be on it, but I went to get my blood labs tested and my testosterone was in the low T range about 290, when I quit kratom for a month my levels shot up to 800, that was the only bad thing about kratom in my eyes, I had to choose between it and my dreams of being a bodybuilder, I just took kratom for the first time since 2019 yesterday because I was sick and wanted a pick me up, and my god it was like Jesus himself came and healed my illness, kratom is a gift from God if used correctly and not abused like I did

ALERT- Long Long comment- Apologizing in advance 😂 7 years I spent a SLAVE to Xanax😢. It was the worst most painful hell I’ve ever been through😭. I wish I had known about Kratom when I went through cold turkey withdrawals!🥺Would have helped a ton. However I found Kratom 3 months later. And it’s helping me navigate life without Xanax and with my ever so present anxiety attacks !! Proud to say in June I’ll be sober a year 🎉. Kratom has helped me so so much, but I started to have some symptoms that reminds me of getting off the Xanax, and the painful withdrawals. Admittedly not near anything like Xanax detox. But I have been getting runny noses and chills when I’m coming “Due” That’s what brought me to your video !! Thanks for the informative video ❤️❤️❤️. I had a sneaking suspicion something wasn’t right. Kratom has helped me so much and I will continue to use it as I do need it as I’m re entering a world I’m not familiar with AKA sober life... However because of your awesome video I’m going to cut back and be more cautious as my journey hasn’t been just about being sober but also about being a healthy and happier version of myself. 💕. Again thank you TOO many are trying to sweep it under the rug and I understand because it is so wonderful. But people need to be able to make informed decisions regarding their mental and physical health. 😊

Thanks for the video. Ive been taking it daily , 2 to 4 teas a day, since june last year. It has brought me back from daily hell that was known as my pain pill addiction. I used to take pain pills not only for my pain but because it helped my depression and anxiety. It made me feel like socializing and being around other people. It gave joy to my life and things had color. I loved being on lortabs, percocets until I didnt like it and it became very very scary. I would find myself taking a 15mg oxycodone (percocet) and then 30 minutes later taking another. And some days i would take close to 20! It was out of hand and I began running out not even half way through my scripts. I would usually talk my doctor in to writing me for another script just maybe a different mg so that the pharmacy would fill it. Unfortunately my nephrologist was allowing me to run out and refill many many times. So as much as it was my fault, he couldve told me no and took me off the medicine. But anyways I finally got sick of feeling like a prisoner and being ill every month. I took myself off of oxycodone and lortab, and klonopin cold turkey. All at same time. It was a nightmare and I tried to check myself into a mental ward when i was feeling super crazy and scared one evening. I was sick for a good month. Then i was weak and had no energy or strength for another month. It so hard. Well after summer 2016 i began feeling victorious. However i still had my underlying depression and anxiety. I was more at my baseline by then and not having exaggerated symptoms caused by my addiction. But it still sucked and i didn't have a lot of joy. So i searched and searched for something more natural and stumbled across kratom. I am so glad I did. It literally immediately made me feel better. I was happy again. It helps my degenerative disc disease and arthritis. I feel normal taking kratom. Like i used to before my chronic mental illnesses and chronic physical illnesses got the best of me. Its obviously not going to be for everyone but im so thankful for it. I am sure i have a dependency only because I take it every day, however it isnt an addiction. I dont constantly think about it like i do when im on opitates. Its just different. But it is a god send. I will say that. Im thankful for it ♡

In my opinion, Kratom has nothing but benefits for those who need it. If you’re uncomfortable with needing to take something every day, as you mention, then it’s not right for you, but other than that there are no downsides to it. Kratom doesn’t hurt you the way that street drugs and pharmaceuticals do. If you need to take an antidepressant or anti-anxiety drug every day, how is that better? If you have serious chronic pain, then your only other option is chemical opioids. Is that better? If Kratom were made illegal, then it would become a street drug and could be laced with anything. It would no longer be safe. The American Kratom Association has established Good Manufacturing Processes and lists vendors that are GMP Certified. This guarantees that your Kratom is pure and free of bacteria or other contaminants. I highly recommend that you go to the website AmericanKratom.org for detailed information about SCIENTIFIC studies, dosing, safety, benefits, and pretty much everything you might ever want to know. Also, they’ve just received government funding to conduct more studies (December 2019). The DEA refused to schedule Kratom because the evidence did not support it. The FDA, on the other hand, is attempting to convince state governments to make Kratom illegal since they lost that battle at the Federal Level. Notably, the head of the FDA is not a scientist, nor does he have any scientific knowledge or prior experience. I urge anyone who wants to make a truly informed decision about Kratom to visit the website and links provided by The American Kratom Association. Please note that this is not a criticism. I applaud your courage in sharing your personal experience..

I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos syndrome which causes a lot of issues but the main things that doctors treat is pain & fatigue. I have to be on something to treat the pain at the very least, what I've been offered by doctors is not something I'm okay with side effects wise (pros don't outweigh cons) today was my second day using kratom and I'm still seeking information to try to figure out dosage/long term effects etc. I really appreciate this video, super informative! I'll keep doing my research to make sure I'm careful with this, but so far this is the least scary of things I've had suggested to treat my condition (they treat w/morphine, fentanyl, gabapentin, pregabalin etc) and those scare the crap out of me

I think Kratom is great for people who were previously addicted to other opiates. I never really did anything else before trying kratom and I got hooked to OPMS extracts. Only for a month but the last two weeks got bad. I stopped 4 days ago and been going through the withdrawals this week and it's been terrible the first couple days, but starting to get better. I really don't want to go through that again, so I think I'm done with Kratom. Definitely has it's benefits, but like any other opiate once you're hooked, you'll just want to take it just to feel "normal".

Just like with anything, it's always a good move to stay away from extracts. Not only are the methods for extraction often questionable, but the concentration is often much higher leading to faster dependence and easier abuse. As with everything natural, always stick to the plant form. Nature will seldom steer you wrong.

Don't celebrate to early. I'm an old addict. 25 years amphetamine, opiods and benzodiazepines addiction. Moved to Thailand 8-9 years ago and started take kratom. I can't stop. I see my friends vomit every morning before they get their kratom. I'm lucky enough to not have that severe addiction. I buy 100 bath per day, around 20-25 good, newly picked leaves. I was on 130 mg methadone per day when I came here. So I have experience. If I can get 1 person to just think twice before they start taking it I'm happy. All I heard was "its natural", "not addictive" etc etc... Seems to me like mother earth knows how to mix molecules and chemicals together just as good as humans

10:05 I would argue that taking kratom for occasional social anxiety is not a good idea because it prevents you from habituating and naturally getting over the social anxiety through negative reinforcement. That's a really easy way to become dependent on it. That's what any therapy would say who has had experience with patients being on kratom.

I was a pint a day or 2 bottles of wine a day or an 8 pack a day depending on which week you caught me on. I kept saying, I'll quit but I would get cravings and always cave in. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't had a single drink. Made it through Christmas AND new year's. I see alcohol now as what it really is, a poison (esp to ppl like me who can't stop at one.) I went thru mild alcohol wd and didn't look back. I doubt it will help everyone but it sure helped me.

Couple items to help a fellow female on Kratom: Most men can pickup on you fixation looking at yourself (its apparent how you look at the screen and all the eye movement while recording) A lot of woman end up on drugs because of insecurities feeling they are not enough If you stop being so fixated on yourself you will take less drugs If you take care of the areas people can;t see, you won't feel people see them (as you evidently do). For example shave your pubis area and you will feel much more confident. If you let it go so long as you have it will cause insecurity and the itching that is prohibiting you from showing people below second half of body The big periods your bring up are much less messy without all those long strangulated hairs all over

I quit - absolutely cold turkey. Never took it again. I have had 15-20 dreams about finding some or taking it again. I would quickly - Very Quickly get right back to where I was. I don't have good "brakes" on stuff like this. It was probably more emotionally enjoyable than weed ever was. Loved it. I like not worrying about my next dose or maintaining my supply. I've got off of marijuana a number of times, staying off for years. In some ways I function better without it so when I was writing a patent without it was better, but if inventing musical instruments (serious designs) with it was good. I noticed definite withdrawal symptoms each time I quite. Color and sound, music and visuals all look dull and lifeless for a while. Sleeping becomes difficult, dreams become absolutely wild and you remember them, as if your body was getting you high while you sleep as compensation for not getting high while awake. You feel extra depressed and life feels glum. Then after about two weeks you start to rally, in a month your back, but it takes a year to totally get over it. There is some little amount of body discomfort but that is very mild for marijuana and is over in about a week. The hardest part is the smoking itself is pleasurable quite aside from the high, that part is hard to give up. I now only do edibles. Kratom seems like a depression killer rather than a means of getting high, I like it just short of a physical effect but now I'm hearing about the addiction stories and worry. There is talk about addiction and potential liver damage but little talk about how dosage and frequency play into that which is frustrating.

And very few people I know who also go to kava bars where they sell it ever have any addiction to it. I’ve mainly read that it really depends on your habits with it. Thank you for the video. Good unbiased information that's rarely found online. I'm currently taking kratom twice a day in moderate doses and barely feel it works sometimes. Though I did just quit fentanyl a few weeks ago, and my body isn't 100 % yet, I do feel like kratom has been at least helping with the ridiculous insomnia and random cravings that come after quitting strong opiates. Spending between $50-$100 a MONTH for kratom instead of EVERY DAY feels miraculous to me. Lol. Some days i do wonder why it feels like it helps more than others though, so that's still weird to me cause i always take the same dose. Just like everything in life though...i feel like nothing good lasts forever, or if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Lol. I'm sure the day will soon come where I'll need to up the kratom dose, or the day will come where i won't want it or didn't get it and feel some sort of withdrawal symptoms. All i know for sure is that it won't come close to being as bad as detoxing off fentanyl, so I'm not too worried. Again, thank you for the video.
