There's something very cool about finding an island all to yourself, then you pop over to the next island and there's a pub with cold beers!

It was most certainly a great island to visit and work. The diving is great when the weather is fine. Cheers...

@@harrymoman2682 cheers mate! I thought I may be pushing it with a 4.7m boat, but it wasn’t too bad, picked a good weekend for it. Definitely keen to do it again

Cool video! How much is a boat like yours worth these days? I live in Yeppoon and looking at doing this 👌🏽

You could easily get on the water in something between 4.5 and 5metres for 15-20k, I was lucky I picked mine up with a brand new Mercury outboard for 22k fully refurbished during covid. Mine is only 4.7m so have to be concious of the weather, but I love Yeppoon and will be back to the kepples! It’s a great spot you are lucky to live there!

I would also be suspicious of the Jet-ski owners, too... You anchored pretty close to them and they might have cut you off in spite? VERY unlikely for it to have rubbed through in the short time you were at the bar, and the rope was too short to have rubbed on your own prop.

Yeah that could have been a possibility, though I’m sure it was my lack of anchoring knowledge at the time. I’ve learned a lot about anchoring on islands since then. Looking forward to getting back to the kepples soon

keen to know how the rope snapped. wouldn't have had any load on it by the looks. The snorkelling is great right on the point in front of the old resort some nice trout there usually with the slatey Bream
@exploremodeaus Жыл бұрын
Yeah all I can think of is that I’ve anchored too close to the beach and the movement has torn the rope, but it is still a mystery. Yeah the snorkelling is great there! That was actually my first time snorkelling so really enjoyed it, keen to go back !
