Love the videos and commentary that Chris gives. Sadly though, the impression he gives in these tour package vids is that Thailand is nothing more than a pot haven, beer drinking, good eats country. Kind of like a "Beach Bums Paradise" or "Homeless in Cali" tour. I wish Chris could showcase more of Thailand for the tourists, such as the majestic temples, elephant sanctuaries, cooking classes, open markets, and adventure sports that Thailand also offers. Thailand is so much more than Bangkok and the beach communities. I do agree that the cost of his tours are especially high since he takes you to his buddy's homes to be entertained. I guess it is like visiting a distant cousin feeling. As a non-drinker, non-pot user, these types of tours would not be for me. And, having seen the kinds of clientele on his tours, I think I would just do day tours and venture out on my own. The only thing missing from his tours is a visit to a local massage parlor to get a "happy ending".

We just left Ko Samui and got injured, but the hospitals and hotel and tour staff were just as good and friendly as the States. Emergency room care was about 1/10 the cost too.

@Ahahahhaaah - Hawaii is crazy expensive compared to Thailand! Honestly, I think that Thailand has more beautiful beaches and islands than Hawaii. The best part is that the cost in Thailand is 45% to 50% less than in Hawaii! Chuck and Paige, another Thailand KZbinr, just spent $66 on two burger plates and drinks on Waikiki. You'd think for $66 for two burgers and fries, it'd come with free massages. Plus, crimes against tourists in Hawaii are on the rise! Just like in San Francisco, the locals are breaking into cars driven by tourists in Hawaii.
