RoomieOfficial Maybe it’s a BPM thing. The song is in, let’s say, 107 and the click in the first example is 109 and the second is 105. When I try to find the tempo of a song it can sound on-beat for a while, but gradually shift when the beat gets “too off”. Maybe we’re hearing the part where it sounds on-beat in the second one, and just as the shift gets noticeable in the second one? If so you would have to have almost perfect time to catch it. Or maybe we’re just baaaaaaaaaaad...

Yeah, I took it too. I've been in choir, ballet, and piano since I was in 5th grade (all heavily centered in music) and I did great on the two pitch tests (95'th percentile range) but when I got to the beat section, I could barely hear the music in the background in comparison to the loud ass beeping in my ear and I got somewhere in the 30's! Idk, thought that part was kinda ridiculous, rest of the test was ok.

I am not a talented musician but I still took the test, and I did worse than him lmao (although I also got 122 for mistuning perception). I scored the same on the first 2 tests but I really feel like the mix with the singing test was not very good lol but I guess maybe it was to make it harder and make you listen more? I do not know but the bad mix bothered me a lot. Love you momma

This test was so hard! As mentioned I bet only people who are already pretty into music are taking it so the "average" person is probably still pretty good. I am completely average in beat alignment and mistuning but got 135 on melodic discrimination so it averaged out to 110 --> for reference grew up playing piano from ages 6 through high school but stopped playing music thereafter.

We have to take a similar test to enter the Faculty of Music of UNAM in Mexico. I took it twice because I was not accepted in my first try. It would be interesting to take this test 🤘🏻

Okay, so I just did the test and got 114, which I'm pretty happy with but I did not expect the distribution. I expected that Mistuning Perception would be my best area but it was my worst, and I thought Beat Alignment would be my worst area but it was the best. Although I did notice with the mistuning, when both clips were out of tune I had trouble telling which was worse. But when one was in tune and the other was pretty close I could tell the difference. Anyway cool video Roomie! P.S. I beat you in Beat Alignment ;D

I think this test is much easier if you've played in an orchestra. I've played violin and done a lot of other instuments, writing music and singing etc. and I could see that it has much more recemblance to the learning of classic music than actual musical talent. I would humbly say I have both but the actual classical training seems to be what actually helped med the most during the test. So, I think you have to destinguish between a lot of training and natural talent which maybe you have more of that most people which is why you might have had some wrong answers. I'm also from Sweden by the way ;)
