When you pick up the rod out of the holder waiting for a bite to hit again you're changing the angle and the depth of the hooks in your line therefore spooking the fish or making them a little bit more cautious that's why you leave it in the rod holder till you're ready to set it.

Whiting don’t have a minimum and are delicious. You should take a couple bigger ones home and do a cook I also notice a trough to your left. Look for white water washes that make troughs. Fish may funnel in through there as the tide comes in

You need to use some of the elastic invisible thread. Harder for the fish to pick your bait off and your hook up ratio will be better. Tight lines my dude 🤙🏽

If you ever decide to get an 80 wide loaded with 300-400 lb braid, with a 400 lb mono leader, to a 18 gauge steel leader and 18/0 hook, well, you want to keep that pup shark you caught. Don't kill it. Hook it in the back and LAUCH that sucker out there with a 3-4 lb rebar sinker. You'll catch a MONSTER shark. Shark is the best bait for other sharks.

Just a tip. When fishing surf don’t hook the shrimp like that when having smaller set ups and using cut shrimp because they can rip off the bait before you realize it . Hook them all the way through end to end to secure it 🤝🏾

Pretty much exactly like a Carolina rig. Never caught fish on it sadly. I've used 65 lb braid and 40lb monofilament and tie knots really well, ensuring I wet them as I tie them. Every time I've used the carolina rig and a fish finder rig, my line hits rocks line breaks. I've ended up losing tackle for my rig on my line. 😢

I only now either use a dropper rig or drop shot rig I've had better luck using those two. The knot doesn't hit rocks on a dropshot rig or a dropper rig. They're pretty similar except a dropper rig uses a 2 to 3 inch hook so soft plastic or live bait dances around alittle better. 😊 I don't use Carolina rig or fish finder rig due to knot breaking on rocks.
