You are making a point about hair, relating to African women in Africa , that I, as an afro Caribbean man, has always found quite interesting. I can't seem to fathom why African women in Africa, and elsewhere in the diaspora, abandon their natural hair in preference for wigs. And so they appear to spend little or no time tending to their natural hair. It appears that there's nothing more beautiful than wearing a wig or some other attachment such as braids. It is noticeable how they stroke these attachments as if they are natural. From my experience, whenever I touch these accoutrements, without the wearers' knowing, the feel is so unnatural. Why our ladies wear them is beyond me! It is plain to me that without them, they feel lesser than. And they may have a point, because their western gravitation has taught them to show lesser care for their natural attributes, and to pay more attention to adopting western ways. And so without wigs, etc, the African woman thinks she's not presentable and this shows up as a demeanor. Very sad indeed!
