Agreed! While we "hate" Michigan, it is a playful hate.... or at least not a true "hateful" hate lol. This comes from a die hard Ohio State fan that grew up a few miles from the Michigan border :) As many Michigan fans as Ohio State fans in and around Toledo. Curse the traitors ;) And in reality Ann Arbor is just as cool of a town (or small city, whatever...) if they would only kick the University OUT lol ;) EDIT - ALSO - I was really amazed by how many Tennessee Fans showed! The one half of the arena genuinely had a lot of orange! Not as much as the TV coverage led you to believe, but I am still impressed!

Thanks for posting this. I’m an OSU alum and I’m glad to hear most of your interactions were on the positive side. Typically away fans receive the same energy they put out while in Columbus. It was a great atmosphere but it was a little strange compared to a fall game day. The tail gate scene last weekend paled in comparison to the regular season. You should make the trip up for Texas vs OSU in the 2025 season opener. Im sure the parties will be fired up for that one. Respect for Vol Nation’s loyalty. As a long time Buckeye fan in CBus, that didn't feel like a "typical" game day experience. Fans stayed home until the last minute and didn't tailgate, a lot less students, and the cold makes it so much less enjoyable (less drinking). But the biggest difference was all the Vols fans. Shout out to those who made the trip to Columbus. If you were on the East or West sides of the stadium, it would have sounded totally different. The stadium had odd acoustics. Two great schools, two great fan bases... love college football. Great video to show the respect of both fan bases! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I totally agree. There was a lot of variables (deflated fans, timing, weather, 35k Vols fans, school being out, etc.) that made it not feel like a true home game for us. We can assure the atmosphere is much better than what you saw Saturday. I go to a ton of games and was unimpressed myself.

@@Bowhunterohiono one was gonna do that, it was just a bunch of fans online trying to troll OSU fans, it was meant to be a joke, not taken seriously. That said, I definitely hate the side of our fan base that actually means it when they smack talk. Our team is so much better after years of suck (we certainly were NOT Saturday night) but we have a long way to go before we are even close to OSU level, if we ever do. Sad 😢
@BowhunterohioСағат бұрын
@ it’s like this. Never let that get you down. Hell even with the type of program we have we have had bad games in the playoffs. All you can do is stick with the team and have their back. You made it to the playoffs which is what really matters. Tennessee deserved to be there before South Carolina, Alabama and Southern Miss. It was nice to see a fan base follow their team. Ohio State has the largest fan base in the country so it would be hard to play at the shoe especially if it’s your first trip. You guys will be back to the playoffs. @@Bowhunterohio that is a wonderful perspective and I really appreciate you saying that. It's something I need to hear more of after that heartbreaking loss. Even some of our fellow SEC teams fans are screaming about how we "humiliated" the SEC 🙄 like we don't already feel beaten down enough as it is. But if one of their teams had played y'all instead of us, I doubt the outcome would be a lot different, y'all's team and coach had a lot on the line I know, and they played angry/hungry. I laugh when I see other fans talk about how bad OSU fans are. I have been to a few away games supporting the Bucks and any fanbase who say that there fans are always respectfull and decent are just plain lying. All fan bases have those fans who are just rude assholes no matter what. There just hating lain and simple. Went to an Indiana game years back when Santonio holmes I beleive had his first start. There fans were decent for the most part but there were some that were not. On the drive in to park my wife and myself had to lock the doors and had us a bit nervous as the college kids were coming up to our car and calling us everything in the book. Some were banging on our car and I admit it was a bit scary. Parked and in the walk in more college kids were extemely rude with name calling/cursing. I get having some fun and ribbing your opponent but there is a line and several crossed it. I also have been to many home games and seen terrible Buckeye fan's most especially when we lost to Texas back in 05. Most wins I have attended I can't say I seen anything that was what we experienced in Indy and not to say it doesn't happen it surely does. Point is all teams have those fans who can't be civil and respectfull. The ones who constantly say OSU is thee worst are just haters no matter what.

As a Buckeye Fan I truly appreciate your take as an outsider. Great review and come back during regular season so you can see the mad house and how loud the stadium is when it's 90% OSU fans.

Great video! I'm a lifelong Ohio State fan, so old that I went to games when it was "The Shoe". I really thought your legitimate love, and respect for the game was apparent. I'm currently living in west Tennessee, I retired from the Navy here. Keep up the great videos! Hopefully you enjoyed it, and were treated with respect.

My Dad helped turn it in to what it is today. When I was younger I went to a lot of games with my Dad and if I recall it was right after I graduated high school when the enclosed on the south end.

UT fans really showed out. I am an OSU grad and was at the game. I found the UT fans very respectful and enthusiastic! Great fan base!

Lifelong Buckeye fan who has lived in and around Columbus practically all my life. Appreciate the respect you have for the history and beauty and tradition at Ohio State. Love your reaction to The Best Damn Band in the Land and script Ohio. Also, the cold ABSOLUTELY was a factor in how many people were around when you got there (looks like it was maybe around 1pm or 2pm?). A night game in better weather would have much more of a crowd presence throughout the whole day. We are used to the cold, but we aren't stupid enough to stand out in 15 degree weather all day lol. Super impressed with how many Vols fans showed up Saturday.... sorry your team didn't also show up.

Love your enthusiasm, and I’m glad you got to experience the first ever playoff game played at The Shoe! I also wanted to mention that OSU fans have been salty since the loss to ichigan - AGAIN- so, many sold their tickets to Vols fans, and that’s one reason you saw so much orange walking around campus, and in the stands.

Buckeye fan, Buckeye graduate here. Loved this video and your perspective on the game day experience. Also loved that it looked like you were treated well, as you should have been. I love that you have a fan base that is so passionate and travels with the team. Years ago, I was in Gatlinburg on a game weekend and the Knoxville paper had a spread on the UT game day experience. I was impressed. Gotta love a passionate fan base, except *ichigan of course! Lol

Thanks for sharing your experience at the Shoe. Coming from a huge Buckeyes fan I really enjoyed your perspective. A very good friend of mine is a huge Vols fan and it was cool to have our favorite teams play each other for only the second time in history! It was also impressive at how well your fan base traveled, gotta respect that passion for the team and college football in general!

This is such a great video! Glad you had a great experience in Columbus (game outcome not included). I gotta say I feel horrible that you didn’t get the authentic experience from campus. The students being home for Christmas is a huge part but honestly are fan base is kinda having a moment within that affected the crowd. Hopefully you can come enjoy a big 10 game when it’s WILD

When I saw the thumbnail for this, I thought, "What do you have to say about this game for 44 minutes?" I'm very impressed. I loved your take on the area and campus. As a mom of one of the "i" dotters (on the left of where you were sitting), I appreciate the respect of the fans of visiting teams. We can have great competition without the negativity. Thank you. And to answer your question about the band, they do work very hard. 6 days a week. It's "military" style in their stance and appearance. They Learn and memorize the music and where they are to be on the field at all times. If there are 3 home games in a row then they learn a new show each week. If there is an away game then they will have 2 weeks to learn a show and it's usually a harder show with more movement and more difficult music. Sorry you missed the skull session. That would have been a great experience as well. Thanks again for the "visitors view" of OSU. God bless you.

Hey man I'm a huge buckeye, I watched the game at home, and because of you I can now see this whole thing unfold from a different lense. I remember sitting at home watching this game, I asked my friends to go, they just wanted to stay local. I wanted to drive up there to the heart of it all in columbus, I would have been happy to how you around all the cool places after the game. Thanks so much for this video!! This was awesome!

You bleed Tennessee Orange but Love College football Tradition :) this is what it's about.. Glad you enjoyed Columbus and the shoe to start the game.. Was so awesome that an SEC team and fans got to come see the pregame traditions like Script Ohio.. Including the SEC announcers. It's really great when you are here when the kids are outside and in party mode.. But the shoe blew up for this Playoff game and it's so different because the opposing fanbase shows up way more in a game like this.. The playoff extension was a great Idea :) never thought I'd see something like this. Love this video and the depth you add to it. People get to see why Kids chose and continue to choose this university. People talk online and really put down these Coaches and kids but.. most don't know what it's like to experience something like this and to stay Humble.. I understand being passionate but when you are a fan being more of a Hurdle than support.. that's just not it.. I love the kind of fan you are! it's what fills this stadium and all I saw were fans like you on Saturday. great fanbase in Tennessee :) Subscribed.. great content
