I got a chronic illness (chronic headache + autism + very sensitive to noise and crowds) when i was 10 and a half. I have now had it for three years and a few months. Idk, maybe it's better in scottland, but here in the US, I've been going through something similar except I have zero friends online or otherwise now. The only people I really talk to are my 70+ yo parents and my sister when she has time. It used to make me super depressed being inside all the time, but recently I made a big push to try and get outside, and you know what I discovered? I was better off inside alone with my games and shit. The US is so messed up right now and people suck big time. If you spun around in a circle and pointed your finger in any given direction there is a 50 percent chance that person you are pointing at is a irredeemable waist of space. Getting help form people who actually know what they are doing is such a hard thing too. I've been trying to get help for this for around 10 years now and I only JUST found a therapist who I think might be helpful, and I'm just now getting a psych evaluation done (apparently therapists are told in school that ideally this should be done first when someone seeks help, but they often don't suggest it because it's usually not covered by insurance and it's extremely expensive). Anyway, at some point I might try making online friends, but I'm kinda done with outside...

I feel the same way. Having cancer took all normalcy out of my life and i also feel like I'm a useless friend that nobody wants to be around. And my therapist told me to go out and party like normal early 20 year olds to not be depressed anymore, and when i told him i cant because of the medicines I'm on he said i was holding myself back using that as an excuse apparently. I then had to pay him for this session after. Had a breakthrough though, to never see him again. Edit: my mom is also the only reason I'm here still living. Especially because my dad left when i was a baby because I dared to be born too early apprently (at 6 months) and all my other family members are now either dead or dead to me because those assholes tried to kill me and my mom over my dying grandfather's inheritance because we were the favorites apparently. Praying for a better existence for you girl. I mean, thank god you're not me right? Hahaha
