Or the "technically right" challenge where you say you're going to do something which can be interpreted in a certain obvious way, but you do something else which still meets the criteria but destroys the counter to the obvious interpretation. The first one that comes to mind is "I'm only going to defend my bases this game", and then you proxy a base in their natural and "defend" it.

These are pretty solid builds but mind you I always send immediately 3 to 4 workers to attack their builders and you can end in less than 3 minutes or dog fight it out. Your method is great too but you keep sending the workers too late to fight they can fight right away no sense letting them get void rays or nukes

Giving every race options to respond so they don't feel helpless is the easiest way, and also allows for the least number of silly rules that must always be true for the game to be balanced (like reaper cliffs and building blockers in every map).

It comes down to a huge amount of play testing and patches to balance the numbers but ultimately it's driven by smart design. Each race has tools available for both aggression and reactive play. There are also unique strats available to each race with huge potential for outplays but high skill caps (medivac drops, nydus, warp prism/recall) which means that anyone can play well against anyone else if they have better micro and decision making

They build the raves off of a basic design plan. Zerg swarm, Terran combined arms, Protoss Tech. The units all have specific interactions. You don’t have to care about balancing ground units without AA vs air units, right? They don’t shoot up. Al lot of it is also brute force playtesting, this gane gets played a LOT by few people. Its also all math. You can calculate exactly how many units can be made, how much dps and range they have and when they can be made.

What I want to see in the grand finale: "Full base all-in" After you establish an army, you lift and fly in all your all buildings into the opponent's base as "air support" to confuse the ai air targeting and make it difficult to target a specific unit that's covered by the buildings. Works great to bait static defenses fire.
