Norwegian here. What makes a fjord a fjord is the combination of both. it's basically a outbranching from the ocean, with per definiton mountains on 3 of the sides (left, right and the end of the fjord). This can look widely different though, due to the definiton out a mountain being pretty fluent. on the coastline of the south and north side of Norway you will have taller mountains, giving it more of a valley filled with water looking aesthetic, mean while in the center of Norway, the mountain look rather small compared to the size of the mountain, making it look like there are pretty much no mountains at all. hope this answered your question. (and btw, the average salary in norway is far from $114k, it's more like 65k.)

Australian here! I believe the technical definition is the result of glaciers carving valleys over time, I remember being in New Zealand and being taught that Milford sound isnt actually a sound, but a fjord. Not something the every day person has to learn, but the inlets can get formed different ways, a fjord is glacier specific. If its formed from rivers ect, its a sound, not a fjord.
@almestad6702Ай бұрын
@@Hudpower A fjord MUST not be from a glacier. The definition states that fjords are ''typically'' formed from glaciers, more specifically the water from glaciers running down the mountainside, but it's neither a must or a given.
@beepboop984828 күн бұрын
@@flippnorge7105 he probably is correct that its the AVERAGE but maybe its still far above the MEDIAN which is more realistically what we perceive as average. I didnt look it up or anything but usually it tends to be that. Thats why the US having a super high GDP per capita sounds great, unless you know the smallest thing about how the US economy works (most people are poor and the average is pulled up by like 1% of billionaires)

I think Will has seriously over-estimated what people with 1-million dollar homes expect. Just because your house is valued at 1Mil doesn't mean the people are "millionaires" (live millionaire lifestyles). Like people get mortgages and pay off homes.
