My daughter and I rewatched and she was super amused by the kiln shot “Look at the sheep burning in the kiln” we both laughed. 😂💜

Those are stunningly dreamy. I'm smitten by their charm, the idea of little counting sheep is so incredibly adorable. I love how you live in this ethereal, fairy-like state of mind where you can create beautiful objects in contrast to a dreadful reality. Yours is a silent, peaceful protest against the ugliness of modern society, and I live for it.

These are extra cute! Just wanted to let everyone know that this Riverview Mould company is STILL in operation (even though the site looks like it’s from the 2000s). I just placed an order this week! ❤ you inspired me to get into slip casting, it’s been tons of fun!

Ok these are stunning. When the mold was shown my first reaction was 'that's ok, a sheep' and then you added the clouds and then the gold luster and my jaw was on the floor! They look stunning!! That went from something I would have glanced at in a shop and moved on from something I would want on my nightstand! Your creativity is beautiful and a joy to see!!!

The Gold Luster Makes An Appearance!!! WOO-HOO! Watching your posts each week and waiting for the day the gold is brought out! Remembering your trip and the sunset was so beautiful, I love that you found a way to bring it into a new mold. Very pretty and can see this in so many collections of animals or mommas and babies or rainbows or sunsets or all of the above! lol

Hi Shelby! I’d ask luster tips from porceline painters! I believe they use some kind of sponge to apply it and also they thin it with lavender oil or luster thinner before applying (asked my mom 😅) Good luck with experimenting! Love your work! ~Helena, Finland (next to North pole😊)

I would love to see this mold done with some rustic natural colors like with spotty grey wool or black faces with brown wool.

Hi Shelby! Great work! I use an airbrush alot and for better control you can place the airbrush in your hand more like you would write a letter. It also looks that your either to close to the figure or you use to much pressure. You don't want the paint to move once it's on the figure, so the paint "rolls" . That way the paint can bunch up to thick or thin in some areas. Also don't forget to wear a mask while airbrushing! You don't want any micro paint particles in you lungs 😉
@ShelbySherritt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so so much!!! I really appreciate your advice to hold it like a pen 🤪 I was a little cautious of the airline and not going to lie was so scared it would blow off for some reason so held it weird so I wasn’t near the air line. Now I know it’s safe I’m definitely going to use it like a pen now. I actually had a lot of difficulty with the type of paint, it was so runny it was putting on barely any colour and because you need three thick coats of underglaze (this would be equivalent to about 6 coats of solid acrylic colour) so it is actually visible on the piece, I started just going in with big splatters and letting it drip. I know it’s not the correct technique but after I started doing it I was loving how the colours settled in the texture of the sheep and visually being able to actually see the colour. All a bit of a experiment for me to play with and see what I like to do. I’m definitely not scared of it anymore which is good 🥺 I also forgot to mention that I was wearing a mask and safety glasses. You can hear my deep mask breathing in this footage which isn’t ideal ahahha so I didn’t put it in the video 💕 Again thank you, it was so fun, I definitely have a lot to learn and I can’t wait to look back at this footage and cringe at my technique like you have today but also remind myself that it’s ok to not be great at something when you are learning 💕
@Sarahmalt2 жыл бұрын
@@ShelbySherritt you did great for your first try! I remember I was scared to death the compressor would explode when I started painting with the Airbrush 😅 If you need more paint for the glaze maybe take a look at the nozzle. I would recommend getting a 0.4 or 0.6 if you can get one. That way you should achieve a thiker coat much faster. Otherwise have fun painting! The Airbrush is such a nice tool. And trying is half the fun isn't it? 🙂

Oh, your airbrush is a dual action. Funnily enough I had a similar experience, for years at work I used a single action air brush to color cakes, then I transfered to a different store and no one had told me the air brush was dual action. I could not for the life of me figure out why just pulling back wasn't working like normal. I actually made an entire special order cake that by my standards was super sloppy because I could only get it to work in little spots. And THEN I figured it out and was so embarrassed LOL The sheep came out so dreamy! They're so beautiful and the gradient is lovely. I love the colors. That is an interesting hole in the next reveal.

Bahahahha this is so great! I’m so glad we can share this unknowing together. I wish I had a video of my reaction when I realised I also had to push down as I released. That’s why my blue application was so nice because I all of a sudden realised at the end that more paint came out in a cleaner movement 🤪 I was struggling and becoming impatient with it for a long time so I’m so happy I know for next time! So just know I did the exact same thing as you but I also filmed in and showed the whole world that I didn’t know 😂🥹
