Yeah this one is the one that started it all in the current generation in 2018 or so. This was their first one before they changed their name but it was manufactured by them and on their website they talk about it. Anbernic didn't exist as a name at the time, however. I doi know more about this but that's the gist.. I'm not sure if there's a guide on installing the CFW but the process is pretty easy. Performance improves a TINY bit, but not much. You should check out the RG300 IPS next. It was originally the "Retromini 2" but they changed course with new leadership. I have three of these and they really were a gem when they came out. I definitely wouldn't recommend the Retromini anymore now that we're spoiled with choices.

Oh thanks for the info, do you have a link to where they talk about it there? I had originally suspected something like that, but couldn't find too much information out there on it, plus some other people had floated the dropshipping theory. I wasn't around back in 2018, so I certainly have a lot to catch up on 😅

you can get CFW for the device if you wanted and you can run more systems on it other than GBA. its decent for the price

I bought 1 of these back in 2018 off Amazon. Loved it, till the screen broke. Fun fact, it uses the same exact screen as the Nintendo Gameboy Micro. Easy fix.
