Just finished my first official 'Jukebox run', after some planning and routing I managed to get 2:04:00 (using the in game timer)! Considering I've never done a speedrun of Stardew before, like, ever, I think that's pretty good! Only 15 minutes out from the pro himself!

Technically you don't need to go to the mines for the iron. You can just buy it from Clint. So as a speedrun it might be faster just to grow more crops.

I feel like this run could be much much faster if you just grow some Cauliflower each spring, making sure to save the gold ones, and just do the luau a few times and that will boost his (and everyone elses) hearts up Cauliflower is also a universal like so u can give them to him each week (and on his birthday) to keep boosting him faster

Lately I started a new run and I couldn't figure out why my introductions quest didn't finish when i had hearts with everyone. Turns out I gave George a leek but i never actually spoke to him. You gifted Pam but I don't think you ever spoke to her, so she couldn't send you letters. Maybe you spoke to her at the festival of ice so she was able to send you letters after that?

If you make enough money, you could buy the copper to make a furnace from Clint, then buy 10 iron ore + 2 coal for the 2 Iron Bars needed. It would be very expensive since first you need to buy 20 Copper Ore which in year 1 is 1500 gold. Then add the 1500 gold cost of the iron ore and the 300 for the coal. So as long as you get 3300 gold, you can get the needed resources without going into the mines at all for the mini-jukebox. The main issue will be the Battery Pack, which can be sold by the traveling merchant, for 1500 gold. So basically 4800 gold without counting the orange tree.

@@Melissa.Garrett late game is when luck actually has the biggest effect, max luck vs worst luck in the skull caverns is VERY noticeable. When you use your slingshot and fly through floors luck will do so much. I personally wouldn’t cancel mine plans if not lucky, but I will often change plans to take advantage of a good luck day

@@ozylocz4078 Skull cavern runs aren’t really the same playing on mobile, because the slingshot is impossible to control. Mobile players don’t really rely on it for Skull cavern runs, or even necessarily on Skull cavern runs in late game at all. So it’s a little different.

If you gotta mine a rock one by one I think having the highest luck would make a noticeable difference. Though I guess if you’re really late game and just want to go into the mines for fun then yea luck won’t matter

@@ozylocz4078 It seems I didn’t explain myself very well (which I’m really good at, apparently), but I should probably explain how my late-game strategy works to accommodate the lack of a slingshot, and why luck isn’t quite so important with this tactic. I don’t rely that much on Skull Cavern runs late-game as a money-maker and instead put my effort into starfruit/ancient fruit wine (gotta get that gold clock, lol) - but when I have to head to the caverns for materials, I’ll do it with staircases. I accrue as many as I can by using jade from crystalariums, and staircase past most floors until I find one with a concentrated arrangement of nodes/rocks/etc. Then I’ll use bombs to collect all of that, and keep staircasing down until I hit the next likely floor. Since I’m not looking for staircases under rocks or nodes, the luck doesn’t really matter on that score - and although having good luck will give me a higher incidence of drops like prismatic shards, blowing up massive areas of nodes will guarantee a good number of them anyway. You do get more monsters with lower luck, but with the Infinity Hammer or Sword and the Slime Charmer ring, that’s not really a problem. Anyway, I hope that explains it a little bit! Of course I’m happy to take it if I find there’s a Stardrop Luck day and a chance for a cavern run, but if I need to go there and it’s only Pyramid or even neutral luck, I’ll chomp down a Lucky Meal and still do pretty well with that technique. 😊

You need lvl 6 foraging for lightning rods, you can get one from the CC vault but that’s about 10k so there’s that. I do think going into the mines was such a bad idea considering a few thousand would have been enough to get all his mining needs, which he can make clay farming if he really wanted to.
