Your hair looks softer and more voluminous with the damp styling. One tip that works for me: after you apply your products, mist your hair with water and then use a detangling brush to evenly distribute the product through your hair before going in with the Denman brush. It'll give you more of a "wet styling effect" without the extra drying time.

I almost always do damp styling. I was doing this technique before I even knew it was a technique. I'm also like the fact that it doesn't take as long to dry.

I do a soaking wet style on wash day and then do a damp styling in between washes. Definitely more volume with damp styling and quicker too!! Thanks for the video.😊

Very pretty! I change up my styling routine constantly, it's always an experiment. People always ask me if I've gotten my hair cut or dyed it. I'm like no, I just washed it. 😂

I'm always scared to try damp styling.... I feel like my hair begins to fluff and frizz if my hair isn't wet. That being said, I don't style my hair sopping wet in the shower, but I will use a spray bottle to re-wet my hair after skin care & getting dressed.... And I spray to the point just before it starts just dripping everywhere without me even touching it, if that makes sense. There's definitely dripping once I scrunch, but not excessively so.

I basically do the same thing!

I like something in between really wet and damp. I lean towards the damp side of wet, if that makes sense haha I like to remove the excess water from my roots and lightly blot the lengths and then style. I find that works best for my hair and it won't dry out on me by the time I'm done with everything

Properly hydrated hair will look 1/2 shade to a full shade darker, according to a licensed innersense stylist🤷

I like the wet styling on you. Prob coz it just makes the curls look so define and out of this world. Xx

I like to damp style in the summer bc of the less time it takes to dry. I like to alternate. I'll do wet style 1 day a week (Sat) & damp 1 day a week (Wed). I thought your hair came out great with the damp styling. There's pros & cons with both methods. Also, when I damp style, spraying a little air spray before diffusing helps to get a cast (not my idea, came from another curly KZbinr).

I prefer switching both and something in between. Depends a lot of the product, the result that i want, my mood, my patience to wait for it to dry, etc.

I definitely noticed my hair looking darker and more defined when I wet style. Sometimes I damp style when I want wilder, beachier waves and a blonder look.

I really prefer the damp styling for volume. My hair is not as curly as yours but I can get great volume.

I like damp styling. My hair is fine low density and very porous so I like volume even if it doesn’t last more than 2-3 days

It didn't work for me the first time. Idk if it was too dry or used too much product for damp hair. Definitely going to try again.

I like damp styling but my favorite is "top down". I've never been disappointed.

What is "top down" styling?
@tamarapace30363 жыл бұрын
Top down is a method I saw from KZbin, I'm sorry that I can't remember her name. You start at the top and add products section by section. It seems a bit awkward, at first, but it really is quick easy and gives even me a great wash day. It really helps me at the back where everything wants to be flat and frizzy.

I don't use gel or styling products like curl smoothies etc. I guess I am afraid of them. I just leave in my regular conditioner vs a leave in. I use to be big on silicones

Thank you, Britt. I am curious how often you wash your hair. I work out and have been rinsing my hair with plain water and conditioning most of the time. I also live in a hot and humid climate. Also, which blowdryer/diffuse are you using, please.

I usually do everything in the shower and then plop. But, I’ve been experimenting with damp styling. I’m still on the fence.

Hi, I'm starting to learn all of this curly science and I feel like it will take me years, but I'm willing to do it. I have 2 questions, have you use olaplex? And 2, dis you do curl training (finger coiling)? I tried to look for a video from you, bur couldn't find one. Thanks for taking the time to show your routines and help people like me find their way to loving their curly hair
