Here is an Fl tip that all Fl studio gang use: make the entire beat in one pattern, when u done, right click on the pattern, scroll down and select split by channels. Then all instrumentals will be put in each separate patterns.

Tip for FL: when you go to arrange, if you right click a pattern in the list on the left, you can split by channel. this makes separate patterns for each sound/instrument/sample you used so you can arrange easily and not have to do make unique and turn things off etc!

I'd disagree with the 2nd Sentence. Of course, every DAW can be capable of doing somewhat similar things, but each DAW has their own strengths and weaknesses. If one could be using another DAW (x) which suits one's needs then they would be wasting time on another DAW (y) which gives sub-par features in a field that is just better in the other DAW (x). Eg. I switched from S1 to Bitwig because Sound Design is such an important part of my music, and BW helps to make things work faster for me.. Ofc I could probably design some sounds in S1 but some patches would take 6-7 times the amount of work and time that I would invest in making the same patch in BW. Some patches I just wouldn't be able to make, because S1 doesn't have the features to do so. Conclusion: It really does matter what DAW you use, and exploration is vital to be able to be a better producer.

Used FL for more than 20 years. Started out with hip hop. Now I do EDM. I got mac m1 just to learn logic and garage band for fun. Logic is great for making pop music and rock. But I don't do those genres. FL can make bangers. Martin Garrix and Avicii both use FL. Any DAW can make bangers it's really the artist who paints the cavass. FL Patcher is pretty insane.

Mate, I've been on ABleton and FL, and there's something about Ableton that makes its sound way more immersive than FL studio. I know that there's loades of peeps who've been saying all daws sound the same but it's just not true. I use the same plugins and vsts, and ableton sounds fuller. SO yeh, your sound will change in Ableton.
@yajrobot
@yajrobot 8 ай бұрын
@@hjkhhjkh3635 Next time you gonna use FL, don't forget to turn off your limiter on master. There is a fair amount of distortion when using automation in Ableton compared to clean automations in FL according to one research I found recently, but tbh I still don't think you get fuller sound because of it. You probably don't make music using VST's only so Ableton's audio processing might be just better, you have Glue Compressor, EQ has it's quite pleasant algorithms, also keep in mind how audio warping is different - that would be the biggest detail I identify when production is made in Ableton.

I was a logic user but after getting a writers block, decided to use Ableton for fun. Have to say, ableton’s work flow is cleannn and way easier to automate tracks compared to logic. You really get to be creative with this one. Big down side is if you’re a person like me who doesn’t have a collection of vsts, it’s gonna suck a lil. Never realised how good logic’s stock sounds were. Still, because of the work flow, I’m team Ableton! I still do miss logic’s sounds hehehe. Any workarounds to bounce logic sounds? XD

Reasons dope lots of great features, full SSL mixer with master bus compressor over 50 devices synths, samplers, drum sequencers and effects Vocal pitch adjust in the piano roll no need for a plugin. Combinator that let's you mix any device together as they are or you can take elements like the LFO from one sythersizor to the oscillator off of another and essentially make your own device plugin. It gets better you can customize a face for it with your own graphics, you can put as many slidders, knobs, buttons on it. Supper dope. You will need a minimum of i7 though.

cant lie i was impressed with how you ran through all these different daws my favourites daws are FL and Logic FL as a MPC and Logic Pro as a more structured daw like a pro tools tips: on mac to windows CMD on mac replaces CTRL on windows meaning SELECT ALL (CMD and A on Mac) or (CTRL and A on Windows) when you was in the piano roll in FL you can highlight the selected keys to CHANGE OCTAVE BY CMD AND UP OR DOWN ARROWS OR TO CHANGE THE OCTAVE OF THE WHOLE PIANO ROLL WITH NOTHING HIGHLIGHTED CMD AND UP OR DOWN ARROW Lastly - you can make your beat on one pattern depending on wether all your instruments are with in the same loop length example all the sounds are 4 bar loops then go to the play when you select song and in the pattern column CTRL and click on the pattern and in the pop up menu click SPLIT BY CHANNEL and it will split all the instruments with midi in them into separate patterns. Everything else practically works the same as Logic Pro and the only thing really that makes FL stand out is that it is really a MPC this was taught to me by Shai of Feng Shui producers of STYLO G My Yute feat. @@nephteray303 I had great experiences with Propellerheads software as well. They are no long Props anymore tho, they are "reason studios", hence the logo change and ever since they have been awful as a company. The new owners are dishonest and out of touch. They straight up lied about VST3 support last september so everyone would upgrade(for $199!!), it's now June and they haven't even given us a date. They initially said it would be January of this year! They just string people along and don't deliver on their word. They've completely abandoned the DAW and don't listen to anything their long time customers say. They have become a plugin. They won't say it but their actions clearly prove this. It's sad but this is the reality. User for almost 20 years, thousands of dollars spent, thousands of hours spent learning the software but it is a sinking ship. Even the most die hard fans are finally admitting this.

Although.....there are no decent modulators. And many more features that you get in other DAWs are absent (even the stock instrument plugins suck bad). I switched to BW and it has been such an improvement for me. I actually used to think that S1 was the best without even fully checking out other DAWs and their capabilities. My advice is that if one wants to make music that is more electronic (like EDM, Trap, Drill, etc) i'd suggest going for FL, Ableton or Bitwig.

@@user-fo9lw3pq8l bigwig is great but it lacks some important features.. Like midi capture , pre audio record, tap tempo etc.. S1 has everything but one thing annoying in S1 is that they have very small icons and bloated resizesable features.. It's hard some times when you work with a fast mouse..there is no perfect DAW as it seems till now.

@@enjohVEVO well I’d say that Studio One is very intuitive. Lots of drag and drop. Ableton works kind of like NI Maschine. I guess that’s where NI got it from. And although I start the majority of projects in Maschine, I do the details and mixing in SO. Generally FL and SO are very similar. And I almost stuck with it. But I just prefer the look and feel of Presonus. Since I own a Mac and Win computer Logic was not an option. I did play around with Garage Band though and I’d probably like Logic too.

I‘ve switched from Studio One to FL a month ago. For mixing and genres with a lot of recorded tracks S1 is the best solution. Easy workflow, very intuitive. But in terms of beatmaking FL Studio is really the gold standard. The drum sequencer, piano roll workflow, sample editing etc. are outstanding. I don‘t know the reason but the same 808 hits different in FL compared to S1. Moreover, 99 % of all the type beats tutorials, cookups, etc. are shown with FL Studio, so you can learn all the tricks and perfectly rebuild the beats.

tip for ableton: theres a thing in the drums category called a drum rack where you put your drum samples into it, insert a midi clip and then put in your drums like a midi
@George-nx8zu
@George-nx8zu Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend this for making Drill & Trap music, especially when producers want to be able to use different notes for Hi Hat rolls for example or different notes for snare hits. In a drum rack you can't have a drum sample really go to different pitches. Its better to separate everything into separate channels otherwise you get pretty limited making drill music.
