The stupidity of the people in flicker can make it more fun or less fun. It can be fun when you successfully trick people but it sucks when you’re trying to accuse someone and they vote another person. Or there’s someone who’s obviously clown and they vote them anyway

TRUE finally a valid flicker criticism. But word of advice: don't forget clown role is neutral, not evil. If you know they're clown then send em a note or something saying "I'll help you out but pls kill this person", then you convince everyone to vote them, there is a 99% chance the clown will kill your desired target. Use them like a tool fr 🔥 another ultra pro tip fr: telling someone something out loud (especially the clown help thing) can be less risky than sending them a note. literally every time I drop a note even if it's not suspicious the whole server says "Ummm??? Sus! 🤓" and I get voted out instantly lol.

Me and my friends played that game for 4 hours straight. We played as fair as possible, and only called our friends out as possessed if the possessor genuinely screwed up with our behavior (one guys possessed me and spoke in perfect grammar while I misspelled majority of my words), so we called him out and got him eliminated. 2 hours in, we started pretending that we knew this random guy (jack) and kept trolling him, asking "what do i call you irl" and him responding "I DONT KNOW YOU" Always a fun time with that game.

FLICKER IS SO UNDERRATED but if im being fr it's more like over-hated. Too many people here think the game sucks only due to these reasons: - they played the default mode where 90% of the players are afk, then they got angry and left without discovering anonymous mode. - they assumed there was nothing to do as survivor (they stood there and waited for the evil team to be exposed instead of figuring stuff out) - they got confused by there being 10 roles instead of the overdone trope of murderer, detective, and innocent. (the role-list tab at the top right lets you see what each role does) like fr try being manipulative guyss it's the fun of the game. rather than just waiting for the powerful roles to carry you

I’ll be honest the game still fails as a social deduction. Survivor is inherently boring as you have nothing to do. There’s a reason why the devs of Town of Salem removed that role in their sequel. Also saying to “figure things out instead of doing nothing” is very dismissive of the inherent problems of a survivor role. All roles are expected to figure things out it’s the name of the game, problem is that the survivor has little to no tools to help in terms of social deduction. People stand around and do nothing because it’s all they can really do compared to the powers of psychic and detective. No one’s getting confused over the roles in Flicker, I’ll say that (especially when half of them are the same roles, just in a different team while some like the muffin man or twins are so useless they may as well just be survivors). There’s also things like note dropping which actively discourage private discussion between players (murderers aren’t going to risk talking to their fellow evils if it entails their exposure as the murderer). Roblox chat filters which make writing in your wills very difficult as well as a lack of chat logs making it impossible to see what people have said in the past (people will forget important info which is a shame). Information is hard to get as it’s hard to see whoever’s legit (When a psychic claims someone is good or evil, how can you fact-check that?) Overall flicker is as bad as people think it is especially when there’s better social deductions out there.

Of course there’s going to be some boring roles,but they certainly aren’t useless. And note passing is a risk, but most people don’t hesitate from it. I feel like you might just get sucky servers tbh

@wintonnguyen so you're the guy who stands around and says nothing until the roles are made obvious to you when you're survivor? wow you've completely ignored the idea that social deduction is supposed to be SOCIAL. interrogate people? ask basic questions? even a simple "are you survivor?" can go a long way. yeah I didn't think the roles were confusing, but then I read this comment section and the abundance of roles being a bad thing is mentioned pretty often. (But I agree there's nothing wrong with the variety and amount of roles) For notes, it would be incredibly op if notes didn't have a chance of dropping. But a counter to it? Write in code, as in never mention killing or evil team, but instead write it as if you know it's going to drop. After your first few notes you can also communicate which targets/victims to use abilities on next by jumping near them, and you can jump alone for yes/no. nobody seems to notice when you do that somehow lol I'm confused as to why you mention journal and notebook censoring? both of those have a button that lets you check if the text will be censored or not. But yeah it's incredibly annoying when someone is voted out and didn't use the useful feature leading to all of their important info being completely useless. Out of all of these games, Flicker is THE MOST social deductive. (except for possessor maybe) It relies heavily on social skills and interrogation, smart use of notes and journals, This is the game. Most games rely almost entirely on the mechanics of the game meaning even idiots can play good, but Flicker? Flicker is not for everyone.

Its a survival game, there is no talking, voting, nor daily or nightly phase, which can be broken in more unique games, however all of the pillars of a social deduction game minus elimination via killing and special roles are broken.

Bloxston is so underrated, here is some history This game died because of a hacker, but the game got remade. Sadly all the players who played in the last game had lost all progress and complain about it. The new game recently got a new role “CONJURER” and what it basically does it like a role guesser, if you guess a role you can kill them in the morning. There are TI roles such as, Investigator, Sheriff, Psychic, Lookout, and Bounty Hunter. Mafia roles such as the main ones, Godfather, Mafioso, and forger. Another gamemode is coven which basically has the same things as Mafia but has the included conjurer role. The most common roles are Witch, Magician, and Puppeteer. They also have some extra neutral roles that make the game last longer or more fun. This game is really fun and I hope more people play it

Ive played everything on this list except for Traitor Town and The Snakes. Other than these, there a LOT of social deduction games you can try Murder Thriller - Like mm2 but everyone has a Role, no innocents (its dead though) Murder Royale - One becomes sherrif, one becomes murderer and the rest of the 48 players become innocents who try to survive. If the murderer or the sherrif dies, the innocents gain the role (for example if the sherrif dies, an innocent gets the sherrif role. If the murderer dies, an innocent will get the murderer role) this game cycle continues until one person comes out standing. Innocents can collect clues to increase their chances of becoming the murderer or the sherrif. Murder Time - Someone becomes the murderer every 20 seconds and you have to survive to the end of the round. Social deduction games need more recognition, it makes me feel good watching someone play these Keep it up :D *EDIT: I CAN LITERALLY COUNT TONS for I have played a lot of these so I will update this comment as I remember more*

Explanation: every round, a possessor gets to take someone's skin and act like them. you have to figure out who has gotten possessed by socializing and getting to know everyone's personality. then, you can tell who is fake and who is real. An exorcist gets to choose who they think is possessed based off of what they think and what everyone else tells them. If they get it right, the game ends and restarts. If it's wrong, the exorcist dies, gets replaced, and it continues until it's only the possessor and one other person. it requires social deduction and intelligence. also, there is other roles like decoy which acts like flicker's clown and medium which acts like flicker's psychic.

Here's a tip for murd in murderer island:When you have the clue section pick the 2 that more people have to lead it off track, than pick 2 fake clues that hint it towards a single person. If investigator claims try to kill them if they aren't safe. The game relies on social, and clue strategies/Picking clues that others have

Since everyone is talking about flicker in the comments (I read three comments...) I shall share my memories from the non-raging game of flicker. 1. Whenever I was assassin if someone said anything rude to me or if I just didn't like that person I would put in my journal they were murderer. It was great :) 2. Whenever I was dark psychic the lovely role of deception, I would flip the roles. If it said they were good I'd say they were bad and same for bad. I was quite evil looking back at it now... EDIT : OMG I just remembered whenever I was clown I would put a really cool poem I made up on the spot every time in my journal! (It got tagged like most of the time...)

to anyone who likes flicker, PLEASE play bloxston mystery. I cannot stress enough how much of a direct upgrade BM is to flicker. I'm sure the first few rounds may be tough, mostly due to how overwhelming the amount of roles + mechanics can be when you're a noob, but it becomes very simple once you learn the basics (especially when you literally have a help manual you can access at anytime both in and outside of rounds). There's also a wiki for extra, though niche information. Don't be disheartened when you die, it's simply a chance to learn. Who knows? maybe you can talk to a medium in the mean time. I know practically everyone who plays flicker right now is a loyal fan, since there's no other explanation for playing a game that literally hasn't had a major update since 2021 (I'm serious, everything after 4/25/2021 has been QOL and bug fixes), but please give Bloxston some love. PLEASE! there is a game that is more than standing still and typing in roblox chat to a crowd of AFK people. that game is called Bloxston Mystery. *I'll EVEN make a tl;dr right now:* play bloxston pls, it's better than flicker

Theres a game out there called Incursion and in my opinion one of the best social deduction games for its time. It's a (currently) dead game that came out in 2017 and is about aliens stealing the identity of humans, with the unique factors having a limited inventory and searching for supplies like Traitor Town. Not to mention spectators are able to join mid round as a weaker alien which spices the game up. It's still a really fun game if you can get a group of people to try it out with you

I want to add "MURDER" (yes, generic name ik) Which is just Garry's mod Murder. The Bystanders stay alive and pick up green objects around the map, when they get 5, they get a gun. The Murderer has to kill everyone, there are powers they can buy and use to help them. Also there are some rounds were there are random gamemodes, like Juggernaut, where everyone has a gun and the murderer is visible, but has a ton of life and has to kill everyone. It's funny and silly, I like it

Honestly the best part of social deduction games is when you have friends in VC to play with. You learn other people's tells, can get more info out of people, and are able to control the narrative more easily. Unfortunately my friends aren't big fans of social deduction games 😂. I crashrd out in bloxston mystery lets call the two main people the rizzler and feesh the rizzler was vet whispers to feesh day 1 rizzler died day 2 i asked feesh about the whispers she said she was talking about her game while rizzler is literally a gm she will stay concentrated on her game i assumed rizzler baited feesh into her house and died i hard pushed feesh but town couldn't listen (i was doc watching town being blind)

if you plan on playing flicker again, play anonymous mode. it's much better than custom mode, as the players actually know how to communicate and use their roles properly

I used to actually love playing these types of games. I have 100 wins in flicker. I played the Bloxy murder game once and got medic. I didn’t know how to play but somehow the murder killed someone in my house? I told everyone that..but they voted me. 😭

Like I remember playing that one game that also had multiple roles (similarly to Bloxston) and it was fun in general but the game died down unfortunately, I cant remember that game's name....i played it long time ago ;-; Also, even tho it's not on Roblox but I suggest trying out Wolvesville since it's similar to Bloxston

skill issue 😭 literally every time I'm psychic or clown I just say "I'm psychic, this person is evil" and it works like a charm, it works so often that I've gotten bored of those two roles specifically you're playing the game wrong all of you people who say "they vote randomly" or "they never believe me" are the people who just suck at games like this. I like playing flicker with friends it’s super fun especially when you don’t know each others roles cause it just gets silly and me and my friends ended up a giggling messes by the end of most rounds I’ve never really liked murder mystery 2 it’s just not fun to be innocent every time because it’s nearly impossible to win if you are a casual or new player. But I LOVE murder party!! There aren’t multiple murderers and sheriffs (usually two) there are other roles like hacker and party planner so even non murderers or sheriffs can win!! And if you get unlucky with being one of the few people who are innocent you can just yk, grab a role cause like how in mm2 innocents can grab the sheriff gun in murder party you can grab any dead persons role (actually any non murderer role can but yk so even the sheriff can swap) so you could go from being innocent to the murderer as long as the other murderer is still alive!

I remember dodging the Werewolves at night by jumping up and down the stairways. Another funny thing I remember doing was catching a Werewolf because they were using mobile controls, since they could walk slower than their max speed.

Yeah flicker is just not it anymore... if ur an evil role, u either end up being randomly voted within the first 2 nights, or get thrown suspicion bc someone says its you and they claim psychic If u get twins, you end up dying within the first night. If u get psychic, half of the names end up tagging out. If you get muffin man, hooray! your role doesnt do anything besides provide 5 seconds of happiness. If u get spy, congrats because youve either framed an innocent player or got lucky and saw someone kill a player
