In the extended cut for patreon i mentioned that like, this community (for the most part, was SUPER nice)! Almost every game I had a 'gg' or a 'glhf'. When you compare that to like .... overwatch ..... its crazy! The community was really nice! Survivalist and SOTL were super nice to reply!

I couldn't help but smile at a lot of these moments, like practicing so much yet not knowing what to do in castle age (lol), practicing and playing more yet getting worse...WE ARE THE SAME lol. You're not necessarily bad at the game, it's just that it takes thousands of hours to master it, and that's when you're actively learning and improving in every match. The only way you could go pro in a week is probably if you're someone who's already a pro in another RTS, and you're playing 16 hours a day with full learning focus.

When I was a teenager (cd edition), I was proud that I could beat the ai in hardest. So by number of hours, I feel to myself that I'm pretty good. But then I'd go online and get trounced every time. Nowadays I got back to playing DE and still lose every online game. I don't know where all these >800 elo people come from. It just seems impossible to multitask at that level.

Aoe 2 is probably my favorite game of all time! There's so many little details that go into each match. Did you ever try the art of war tutorial? It helps with little things like getting rushed and expanding eco before/after castle

The golden rule for climbing on RTS games that you have little to no experience with is just go for cheese rush strategies. You just have to learn a streamlined process and you just go like that. Usually once you get halfway to a decent elo you start playing with other people that use the same strategy.

My dad fucking loves this game. Had it since it came out. I had to install fixs to get it working on windows 10, but when I did it he was so happy. I play him a lot in 1v1 and he always beats me. I’m pretty shit, but he’s pretty good.

I saw this on my timeline some months ago, but I didn't watch it until I saw your Civ6 one. It's crazy to think that in your Civ6 one you were able to beat a pro (even with a cheesyish strat) but in this one, you couldn't even get to 1k elo. I've played AOE2 for a long time but never played multiplayer until DE came out. The game is very fun, but man it can be a real pain in the ass. In your games earlier in the week, I'm pretty sure you went up against a couple of smurfs, which tends to be an issue recently for some reason.Good videos, man got a new sub.

This game requires a lot of time to be remotely decent at it. I can only play a few games a week and I basically just practice build orders against the AI and playing against people makes me really nervous. Also you have to understand how to keep your economy safe while fighting. usually your opponent is across directly across the map from your starting position. and the hotkey lets you train troops and vills faster as well as build multiple buildings at once.

Oh, how the times have changed... it seems only those who dedicate a lot of time to the game remain... so these days people at 600 ELO execute build orders nearly perfectly, can micro, and are following the streams of the top rated players. Just 2-3 years ago 600 ELO was about simcity players, half of them never even touched their boars, and produced villagers only on demand like we did it as children playing the original campaigns.

Amazing video, I did this same thing a few years back and the pros were very helpful aswell. I did rage quit after about a month xD 111 Fast castle knights, castle rush, siege and stable behind enemy lines, such fun once you get it down.

I only play the Age of Empires campaigns, because like you at the beginning, I suck. And I've been casually playing AoE and 3 since the game originally came out. I still don't want to play multiplayer, but your funny video and tips encouraged me to up the difficulty haha
