I Tried Innersense I Create Curl Memory for 6 Weeks. Here are My Thoughts...

So I did wash night while watching this video. I did use curl memory but this was the second time. I couldn’t remember much about my first experience except that I would try it again. But after seeing this, I added a little ufd underneath and it’s looking amazing!

I had the exact same experience with flakes. I tried various combos and water ratios until I completed the whole salon size bottle. Flaked every single time. Customer service said “hmm I’ve never heard of that”. I was so disappointed. Never repurchased

I had the same experience. My hair was very defined but very very dry and flaky. I thought it would pair well with the iCreate definition foam. Double whammy of dryness.

Not me coming back to this video to watch again haha. For my coarse/dense but loose curl, this is my holy grail (literally it’s drying in my hair right now) because it does what UFD didn’t for me which was provide mad hold *and* hydration, UFD is a little too elongating and soft hold for my heavy hair. This is def not flexible hold by any means unless you’re using a pump per section. I use about 2 pumps per quadrant of my hair and it gives me strong hold. The crunch is real but it softens easily with a drop of oil (unpopular opinion but sometimes I just don’t wanna wait for the crunch to soften organically haha) and then my hair is left defined and soft. I layer I create lift under for more volume, I create volume for more hold. But it gives me the best balance of softness, volume, and definition of any product I’ve ever tried

@@itstruedestiny I applied two pumps to my ends on my bangs and it didn't even clump a single curl. I purposely put in a small section to see if it does this. Automatic return. UFD will clump a curl without question.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Styling products with xanthum gum are notorious for flaking if they don't have enough oils in the formulation.

Omg that's what's happening with The Doux 808 base gel. For the life of me, I can't get it not to flake.

I have 3b-3c curls that tend to shrink up a lot, so when this came out I had high hopes. It really didn’t work for me, but I don’t think it was made for me. That said, I’m very happy for there to be products tailored to tighter textures than mine. I’m not offended that it’s not for me! Also, I agree that cast is *aggressive* hahaha. I wonder if the bamboo, or the combo of bamboo and rice extracts, in the formula is what is making hair feel so dry with this product. I agree this product made my hair *dry* like the desert. 😭

Apparently I've been using this product incorrectly in my daughter's hair. My SIL owns a spa & salon and they use Innersense products. According to her Innersense Quiet Calm Curl Control is meant to be used first then the I Create Hold or Memory. I haven't had a chance to try this yet to confirm this makes a difference.

It depends on what outcome you want! Adding quiet calm curl control will add softness and reduce the cast to both gels, which may be what you want!

I do this process and love the results. I don’t get flaking because I co-wash & refresh it in the shower every other day or so and let air dry. I like a fresh wash and go, lol. That’s why I refresh frequently.

Yes of course! I typically use curly magic and I create hold. Lately I been reaching for 808 base gel and I create hold. It has been humid here in Tennessee so I’m thinking about repurchasing Bamboo Ginseng again which has a really strong hold to get you through the week.

@@itstruedestinyI finally tried Curl memory with Sweet Spirit and the hold is INSIDE! But once I scrunched out the crunch I love the definition, hold and shine it gives. It’s only day one but I’m excited to have found a new favorite!!

Thank you so much for sharing! I love Innersense products specially I create hold 😍😍. I finally tried this gel, I have to say I experienced somewhat the same w/the flaking. 1st time I tried it my hair was SUPER HARD the crunch was definitely there & by day 3 hair was flaking & feeling really dry. 2nd try- more innersense leave in & way less gel, this time the definition was really nice But flaked at day 5. 3rd try I used the Innersense leave in, the curl cream & then a little of the gel & that gave me definition & softness which it was what I was looking for BUT it did flake by day 5 (you really couldn’t tell just by looking at it is more when I touched it or move my hair around you can see flakes floating in the hair! 😂. I feel like this gel create a coating in the hair & depending on different factors (weather, styling, everyday activity) this coating starts breaking apart causing the flames.

HEy destiny i used with i create volume it still had a hard hold but after 3 days and soften up and was soft. but on day five it was dry like hay

It’s amazing on me but I do have quite a loose curl pattern. I usually layer it with I create lift or volume. It’s my fav Innersense product rn bummed it didn’t work for u!

Damm I was about to buy this! Good to know it’s a flop. I can totally relate to just doing something and hella flakes from the gel just fly everywhere. I hate it!
