We're from the UK. We always eat here when we come to Vegas. We were a little disappointed to find how the cost had almost doubled post covid. However, good food, still fairly good value compared to other Vegas buffets. Thanks for your videos. We always watch. 👍👍

Ooh this looks tasty and the price is reasonable! I am originally from Hawaii and I had soy sauce chicken all the time when I was a kid. I think you get more Hawaii expats in downtown Vegas rather than the strip and I would not be surprised if they had at least a couple people from the islands working there. Always enjoy your food reviews, you provide lots of helpful details and you are so open to trying different types of cuisines.

I love MSS buffet. It is one of the best buffets in Vegas. Nothing crazy fancy, and the price reflects it. Just delicious food. And I absolutely LOVE the room, it’s so beautiful.

I always liked the Boyd buffets, but the deserts looked better than they tasted. I usually just went with the soft serve ice cream. I miss the buffet at Fremont. Hope they keep this one running.

Last time I ate at MSS was before covid. The food was not good then either in the brewery or the buffet. I am encouraged to give the Buffet another shot based on Ruby's recommendation. She never let's me down.

I would eat anywhere there is even a slight chance to get some island style pork. I probably shouldn't mention this, but I will alway have some small affinity for the place because in one of the mens rooms, they used to have a trough style urinal, with the backstop being a solid slice of the Berlin wall, that the communists set up to divide communist from free Berlin , which was torn down when Berlin became united, so you could actually urinate on part of the historic Berlin Wall, the markings protected by a clear urethane coating. The wall section was still there last time I checked, but the now unfashionable trough urinal is now replaced by water saving conventional individual fixtures. I guess most people would be more impressed by the use of a victorian tiffany glass ceiling used in one of the main dining rooms, that is the namesake of the place, that was repurposed from one of the two famous New York department stores , to great effect. ( if it is still there)

I was in Las Vegas a few weeks ago, and stayed at the Plaza as my first hotel (I move around and use several comps per trip). This buffet was my first meal stop for Sunday brunch. It never disappoints. The food varies from average to excellent, never a bad selection. IMO this is what a Vegas buffet should be--good-plus food, lots of selections, some things I've never seen (but will try) and a lot of favorites.

I had it a month or so ago .. was not much of a fan. Cheesecakes we're good. Service for drinks were good. Food was overcooked, not that great in general. The tacos were ok.

Everyone’s a food critic yet taste is highly subjective. What tastes great to a reviewer may taste like c**p to the viewer. I watch most of the buffet reviews on KZbin and particularly like Travel Ruby. Although the reviewers try to describe the flavor, texture, nuances of the food… in the end it’s not very valuable information. I like to to turn down the volume and evaluate the food for myself through the photos. Mr. Ruby does a good job of showing the food.

@@TrishPage it's not an insult except most buffets in Vegas, local ones in particular were below 15 bucks prior to covid. That doesn't look worth $33 bucks to me. Looks like normal stuff you find in a cheaper buffet but now it's expensive.

Exactly my thought. Remember the former buffet at The Orleans (before the remodeling)? That used to be among the "good bargain" ones. Dinner prices may have been around $15, maybe even less. And this one looks exactly like that ... for at least twice the price. I just don't see the appeal to go to a buffet like this anymore. For $30+ I can go to a decent regular restaurant, at least off Strip.

These buffet reviews are so damn useful. Feels reasonably complete even if you don't go over every item. Would love to see an "awards show" video with different categories like "best luxury" "best value," "best lunch," etc just to take out some of the decision-making.
