A huge shoutout for such an honest breakdown! Thank you for pointing out what we did right-and what we can do better. Challenge accepted!

Cheers.. you guys did an amazing job with your first mass market device! Dreaming is easy, criticizing is easier... but karma yoga - actually doing-the-work & shipping it - is hard.

A little off the norm video this time. But, locally made/built/manufactured tech in the subcontinent will totally be a recurring part of BreakerSpace. Build videos will return soon; and there will also be some deep dives and software projects that I dabble in. Stay tuned for all that, and reply here if you have very specific feedback.

Hey, this was a great video! I actually wanted advice on how to get started with such hardware/firmware/FPGA... etc.. Basically, how do I start understanding and working with these SBCs, microcontroller boards efficiently? I am a sophomore rn, and have ofc worked with the basics of arduino and such, but yea, want to upgrade....

Thanks, and that's great to hear that you are interested in DIY electronics & compute! I'd say you find a goal (don't worry about the practicality) and then try to achieve it with the products, tools, components, guides etc. you can find online. It will be a journey, but if you learn to enjoy it, within weeks you'll start to get into the grooves. If you need inspirations, then I'd say make a homelab server (with a Raspberry Pi or better if it's any of its alternatives) to setup your own network attached storage, jellyfin media streaming, vaultwarden password manager, pihole ad blocker and the likes. Keep going deeper to understand the limitations and ways to overcome it, one step at a time. All the best!

6:10 RK3588 is getting mainline kernel support. I have OrangePi5 Plus boards with the same SoC and Linux-6.13-rc4 works flawlessly.

Yep, you're right! I mentioned this in 6:20. Vicharak hasn't released the image with 6.10 kernel yet for Axon. It is always the challenge with non-UEFI ARM devices (i.e. most of them), you will need the image with new kernel from the vendor (or build one yourself).

I wouldnt consider this anything special. All parts and IP are from usual places and companies. Only underlying pcb has been designed. Price and ram amount matters rhe most here, 16/32gb are a must these days. Great video BTW !!

sbc that costs like an entry level destop / laptop. beats the purpose of sbc. 😂 long live my orange pi @ 1k.

Which Orange Pi board is 1k (INR)? Also, the term single board computer has nothing to do with price, or feature, or performance; it seems like a false assumption.
@iceberg78919 сағат бұрын
@@BreakerSpace bought orange pi one few years ago at 900. installed armbian in it and it was all merry with its 512mb ram. anyways, sbc development board means, i need to have more than one lying around, as ecpendables. here price matters.
