Here’s a snack I’ve been making. It’s easy to make and clean up, so it might be helpful for people with low energy. Not the healthiest though. Ingredients: white bread (1-3 slices) Cinnamon (just a pinch per slice) Sugar (just a pinch per slice) Instructions: cut white bread into thin strips. Place on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Place in oven at 350 Fahrenheit. Leave in oven until slightly more cooked than golden brown. Hope this helps☺️ Note: you can use whole grain, but it won’t taste as good and will be soft in the middle

@MRkneesocks14 жыл бұрын
@@_Fuscous They're similar but I like my way better and it's easier. Bread gets crispy in the oven and the butter is just absorbed by the bread, and the cinnamon sugar bakes onto it. Given these weird combinations, I'd assumed "depression meals" referred less to depression from a mental health/mood point of view, and more to an economic depression (like the Great Depression), wherein people have to use whatever staples are available to them to feed themselves and their families. This would often lead to very simple, or unconventional meals made from cheap ingredients. This made sense to me because many parts of the world are facing economic recession, but at the same time, many of us are dealing with mental health issues due to the pandemic and probably can't be bothered to cook real meals, so this could go both ways.

If it was referring to an economic crisis like you said, i feel like the foods would be a lot less "wild" and more lile a proper meal, but dirt cheap (if that makes any sense.) Also i think theyd try harder to include more vegetables and in general healthy, varied foods rather than throwing together food that tastes good to them, so i believe its referring to a mental state of depression rather than an economic depression personally

I get people's point on 'the depression refers to the Great Depression - meals on budget' but lot of these meals aren't exactly 'budget' meals (at least where are live and being a student without income, some of those ingredients can get really expensive for me!). I do believe these are actually referring to a mental depression, because they're very easy to create / most of these are highly comfort foods. If you are genuinely depressed, those ARE the types of meals you'll make for yourself. Easy stuff that brings you comfort of whatever leftovers you have that are easy to prepare. The comfort aspect is why you might not agree with a certain depression meal. Although I believe there are people that make a difficult meal to try not to think about their troubles. Take from somebody genuinely diagnosed with major depressive disorder.

The depression meal/depression snack I like to have is Butter, Jelly *or jam* and bread. Mix the butter and Jelly/jam of your choice and use the bread to dip.

17💚, I don’t see myself depressed. Yes sad moments do occur but I don’t call it depression. I think of other peoples problems so I really don’t like saying I am “depressed” because I really don’t think I am. I don’t want to seem dramatic or fake. I don’t like thinking like I’m guilt tripping people. These meals do look interesting though maybe I’ll give them a try because I suck at cooking👌

Hey! I’m almost 30, and I wanna let you know that depression isn’t always sadness. Sometimes it’s anger or apathy. Either way, if you do every worry about it, then worry about you and not others. A paper cut still hurts just like a broken bone does. Sure, one is more intense than the other, but everyone’s pain deserves to be treated, no matter how minor.

I'm clinically diagnosed as depressed. I have depression but I'm not sad. I have a good life and are happy most days. Depression can be something so insignificant you don't even realize you have. For me its sleeping in, not eating as much, eating too much, laying in bed on my phone all day. Its not the same for everyone and I definitely feel great most days but that doesn't take away from the fact that I am depressed
