I honestly think the product combination caused the flaking. Separately, I like them BOTH. So if you do need more hold than what the Curl Gel gives you by itself, test it with a different holding gel. I don’t recommend using the products together.

Pattern is far too pricey for them to just end up being an "ok" line. To me, the line was formulated for Type 2s and 3s. With type 4, you have to venture outside of the line for decent results. Hard pass. But as usual, you come through with the content we need

Honestly, I feel you. I hate the typing chart but for an example, I’ll use it. My curls are a mix of 3C and 4A. So I need a stronger holding product. I don’t like being required to put a stronger holding gel on top of an already $20 gel. I like it but that’s a lot of money 😫

The conditioner for 4b/4c was so lack luster. I bought a small bottle to support, like I did with Gabby Unions... but I never felt helped, and I'm 4b.

heyyy!! well me and brianna (third eye angel) tried the strong hold for a wash and go and it did well! I will say the curl gel in my hair which is 3c low porosity fine hair the curl gel hold is soft medium-ish. I used it on it's own and i do not know how many days i will get out of it. I will update you here. I really enjoy the strong hold with a leave in under!

Faye In The City I love Ecoslay. I have used both the Orange Marmalade and the Jell-O shot. For me they are equal in definition but the Jell-O shot has a little bit more moisture, they are both crunchy gels, Hair last all week until next wash day. Just an FYI.

I brought the whole line basically, except the strong hold gel. I got the other gel (it was a creamy consistency which I liked). I got the shampoo, conditioner, gel, spray mist, leave in conditioner, mousse and the detangling nectar. for me, I COMPLETELY LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THE DETANGLING NECTAR, IT TOOK MY HAIR TO ANOTHER LEVEL FOR REAL. I could have just used that and would have been good without adding any other product, and the slip was ridiculous!!! however with that being said, the worse products in the line that I brought for my hair was the leave in conditioner and the mist. I did not know if it was leave in conditioner or mist spray that left a film on my hair that I did not like. My hair felt dirty in my mind, even though I had just washed it, and I had to wash it again, just so it would stop mentally bothering me. But everything else was SPOT on. I would say you may have to try it yourself and get a feel for it. I have long, thick hair, 3C type.

I haven’t seen any other reviews. I’ll go check it out. The back and sides of my hair are 3C. My crown is a mix of 4A and 1 patch of 4b so I applied more of the strong hold gel to blend it in. That’s definitely where I got the most flakes.

I’m so glad I saw your video. I did not see the live. I purchased the travel/trial size kit which has both those gels, a cream styler and a refresher mist. You know we shouldn’t have to use two gels to get a popping wash and go. It’s interesting they say the strong hold is not for wash and goes.🤔 I’ll find out soon enough. Light hand though, no flakes allowed. 😂
