Yeah, Lyn is trash. She doubles a lot, but she hits like a limp noodle. Eliwood is like that, except slower, but eventually he gets a horse. Hector is probably the one that's decent, but his movement is bad.

Adam Samir stats mean nothing if your guy’s not there to kill stuff before your other units are. Hector’s stats are really nice but he’s stuck with 5 move the whole game and gets swords of all things after promotion. Besides, bosses aren’t the only things you’ll ever need to kill and Hector’s mediocre speed can make it tough to double on HHM, which is the generally assumed mode for talking about units.

As long as you keep Lyn decently leveled (and by that I mean she should be at least level 10 by the end of her quest) and you give her the energy ring in chapter 10, she should be one of the best characters in the game. It shouldn't really matter that her defense and resistance are so low because nothing ever hits her anyway. Plus she has super low support barriers with some really great characters.

In all seriousness, I still like older FE games, especially Blazing Sword, but I'd rather have casual mode. Between random reinforcements, fog of war, 1% crits, and - admittedly - my lack of foresight (I suck, especially at long term unit building and planning, though again that's partially due to a lack of memorization of where to get what), I find permadeath to be more of an annoyance than a feature.

@@DoctorFalchion Yeah reinforcements are dumb, and being unlucky sucks, but I find permadeath actually does this thing, where it punishes you for fucking up, rather than giving a minor inconvinience at best. The only thing Casual Mode can give as an actual punishment is _maybe_ making it harder to complete that chapter, depending on who dies. But let's be real, if you're playing casual, you probably like to give your units exp, and if a unit you like dies in a chapter, chances are you're probably gonna wanna reset anyways to give them the exp, so if resetting is gonna happen anyways I fail to see the difference. But of course, that depends on the player. If you just wanna get through the game, by all means, but there's a reason it feels cheap for a lot of players.

Oh damn! I never thought you’d make one on FE7 (and actually mention Eliwood in a semi-positive light). This was an amazing vid! Hilarious too. Always remember to C H E E S E I T U P On a side note, my first playthough of FE7 I literally just brought every cav in the game thinking they were the best class + The three lords. The paladín class blew my mind back then when I found out about promotions. Then I later gave Eliwood boots to catch up with his frendos, not knowing when he’d promote, only to turn into a Cav that can zoom across time and space. (9 spaces of movement lmao) I then proceeded to call Eliwood “King of the Cavs” and he had dummy thicc stats on my first playthough. Oh, and Lyn would always get RNG screwed in combat while Hector choked points. I probably played the game wrong, but it was fun.

When I finally got to Hector Hard mode and he threatens Jaffar over Leila, later on in battle prep tells Lyn how he loves her. Best game ever Edit: I forget the conditions for the first, but the single hardest win conditions were probably getting 700 exp with Hawkeye on Living Legend. And then playing all the other gaiden chapters to get 23x a Glimpse in Time.
