We used to go "snøkjøring" (snow sledding) in Norway. One person on the horse, two lunge ropes on eitjer side fasteden to the chest harness and then a sled/plastic disc style behind👌 and then of we went into the forest

As a professional harness racing horse groom, that looked very scary! ::D I'm actually from Finland but I've never driven an actual sled but the sulky/carriage numerous of times (but only in the training purposes, never during races) because sometimes the horses get so excited over the sled and it's very dangerous if they buck and get the hindlegs over the poles. Actually I just remembered that I have once driven an actual sled as I was in school and my teacher jokingly said that no one passes the class if they don't take the reins in a proper sled at least once, so we all sat in the big sled and drove the horse for a while before giving the reins to another student :D Anyhow, if you guys like driving a sled while standing on it, you might like "ski riding" which is something that people do in Finland and other Nordic Countries sometimes, I think there's even actual competitions for this somewhere? In that one is riding the horse while the other is attached to the horse (just don't stand too close so you won't get kicked, even accidentally) and is skiing after the horse and the rider. The best can do this without the rider too. But this of course means there has to be enough snow for skiing and I'm not sure if buying skis for only this purpose in Netherlands is really worth the while :p

Perfect amount of snow actually. We love doing this with our ponies in northern Indiana 😍. We have had larger ponies hitched up and have races just using western saddle and lounge lines attached to very similar sleds also plastic sleds; and another kid rides to steer. We ski behind our small pony with harness, hitch with very short traces . Thanks for filming - our club loves watching Jesse & Matt videos! Keep ‘em coming 🥰

If you want to do it again, shorten the trace/tug lines about 1 Foot. And if you make a singletree to hook onto the front of the sled it would help. And you can totally modify the top of the sled to make a bigger seat. Look up skijoring!

Omg! Talk about adorable. Macho melts my heart every time I see him. This video has made me laugh. Looks like so much fun. I would love to see you do a video on how to put a harness on a pony and how to hitch it up to the little cart. I need to learn how for so I can start to work with my own pony. I have not been able to find information on basics like putting a harness on correctly. I am trying so hard to learn. If you have any tips or if you write a book I will buy it!
