Ludwig is actually so smart. Usually the forfeit would be just loser shouts out the winner on their podcast. But he twisted it around and said that the loser should record a shout out for the winner on their podcast which is actually considerably better for exposure on the winner's podcast - Trash Taste which like he said, has a larger audience. This way, losing actually became much more preferable for Ludwig than if it was the former.

Play this at uni, a few rules we initiated to spice it up a bit. 1. Can’t drink on lap one 2. You can’t consume all of your drink on one lap. E.g you have to drink on both laps 2 and 3, it makes the game substantially more interesting as you initiate a bit of strategy

Very cool to see this game being played on KZbin. My friends and I play a version of this all the time. We changed Full beers to half beers (just so we can go longer, since we do an All Cup Tour Typically) and removed the requirement that you come to a complete stop. We found that when the complete stop rule is implemented, the optimal strategy is just always to chug at the start line. Without the stop requirement, there are more strategies that work. Since we play Double Dash as well, we call it Mario Kart: Drunk Driver instead since it acronyms out to MKDD as well.

You can actually do LAN play with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but for whatever reason they made it a cheat code. All you do is go to local play, hold L and R, click the left stick and you’ll get access to LAN play for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Need to scale the beers: 1) Do a baseline alcohol level breath test. 2) all drink one equally measured beer 3) wait 15 mins 4) do another breath test 5) use baseline and last breath test levels to scale the beers for the race so everybody is equally impacted by the beer.

It doesn't work like that unfortunately. Some could drink a beer or two and really feel it and it seems mango is like me where I can drink more than the people with me and I'm basically sober while they're all completely fucked up. But basically, blood alcohol levels aren't an indication on how someone is impacted and thus this idea isn't practical. If everyone's drinking a bottle of beer however, there's also no point in equally measuring so I don't quite get that either.

1:01 what you also could have done is 1. set up an old router 2. have a few Wii consoles with a copy of Mario Kart Wii 3. Set up Wiimfi by changing the primary and secondary DNS on your Wii console 4. set up a private tournament (This entire set-up would have depended on how many people you wanted on your tournament though. (Max- 12 players)) The GCN concept is really cool but extremely expensive. I'm not saying that the GCN method is stupid and Ludwig is stupid for making that decision but there is another way of making fun Mario kart tournaments and also due to the fact that Mario Kart Wii is the most popular when it comes to the Mario Kart Competitive scene. also i really wanna see them do 'Beerio Kart Wii' especially with TroyTWD98 on the tournament

@@peepopog4279 I was more meaning most popular aswel but there are so much ways to play Mario kart Wii competitively eg:glitches speed runs, mods and tournaments (which are much easier to do than GCN because of the modding community and wireless internet capabilities on the Wii which the Gamecube never had.) I love the glitches on both games and both Wii and DD are the best in the series. But I get what you mean by the skill ceiling being much higher because Wii is mainly glitches and shortcuts

I've never played this with the no drinking while driving rule. We allow it, causing more strats to evolve, like you could drive poorly with one hand while awkwardly drinking a beer with the other, or just chug it at the start and focus on racing. We always end up chugging at the start tho, so I guess it really doesn't matter :D
