I think this would work better if it was every level rather than every 1000xp. Maybe only after getting a level 50, it becomes 10000xp in that skill (which is the amount of xp for 50 to 51, so it's basically a cap on xp required for a level). It would encourage using a variety of skills rather than just getting one easy skill really high. Instances should be free, unless there's also an un-instanced version. Then maybe for every questpoint gained, you can clear and rechoose for 10 tiles, because otherwise quests will not be worth it.

It’s definitely not Settled’s idea, the title should give props to sram or the tile man community, Settled doesn’t need more publicity but they do for sure. That said, I love the tile man content and if you do make the series I’ll be watching every one on release day

I don't think random events are "cheating" I think it's just a preference of how to play the game. Like Settled didn't give himself the dyes for Ghosts Ahoy, because that's how he wanted to play. If you want to play with random event access because it will make it enjoyable, do it. Ignore any criticisms from anyone else, they can play the game their way.

Interesting idea to start at a different location. I'm kind of split on the instance rules, on one hand yeah they do go against the spirit, but then the XP/drops from random events are only really significant at the start, which is like, just a grind to get a quick and easy one-trick xp method anyway.

random events with walkable tiles need unlocked, to the bare minimum to do. once unlocked can do unlimited amount of times. so the fishing would be 20-30ish tiles, the pinball 15ish, etc. whatever it takes to do. don't need to unlock the whole instance per say. random events where you don't move only costs one tile, so quiz master and jail is one. etc. their too powerful otherwise (the useful ones anyway). the mime, drill Sargent, are one if you want fashion and emotes. if you do go ahead with making Randoms cost, make a sheet on what they cost and then unlock tiles in the ocean or something if you cant edit your tiles available to unlock manually, haven't tested this plugin. this would make the cost analysis interesting and determine whether they are worth it or not. also the genie is free, big. but books cost some tiles.

I like how you play Tile man mode. I think you should make your own rules. I feel like that’s consistent with settled’s perspective that emphasises there are unlimited ways to play the game, which I think has more value as a framework rather than how settle chooses to play his TMM.

Safe spots work North-South brother. If you're standing East or West of an NPC on a corner it won't trap em. (Meaning if the direction they need to move to get to you is east/west it won't trap em) Also for general feedback consider implementing a tougher tile unlock. It feels kind of necessary to these accounts as 1k exp becomes kind of a meme per tile later on when you get an axe or higher combat stats and start doing 30-50 tiles an hour. Settled is making it increase every 1k tiles, if I was to do it personally I'd just add like 100xp per tile unlock or something but also, I haven't made one of these accounts and for all I know there are tens of thousands of tiles that actually need unlocking so maybe consult people first.

Because random events are instances, and those instances are Newley created every time you enter the instance, it would mean you’d need to unlock all the tiles everytime you wanted to do a random event. I’d say either make random event instances free or a 1 Time time purchase

Making all instances free would be a little too easy, you’ve got entire godwars rooms free then, you’ve got the fight pits free, mini games free, so it should be limited to purely random events, even if it’s an instance you’ll never return to like ds2 final boss, you’ll still need the amount of do needed for that

As an FYI if the shop-hopping is getting really annoying, you can use an alt to sell to shops back to the initial stock. If the shop has an ironman version you’re outta luck because irons can’t sell below base stock

I think those random instances are fine to ignore the tileman rules on, with the condition that you don't take anything from them that aren't necessary to complete the instance or is a reward from the instance. The fish net for example that you tossed from the first one.

Comprimise and say an instance is a single tile and therefore would take 1000 xp to unlock. would lead to some interesting situations were you might want to hold onto a tile unlock to be able to unlock the event when it comes around.

I think if you want to use rewards that required to get inside the instance beyond their normal use in the quest you must unlock the tiles. If not then you can just use it for the quest completion but not for training. For example you cant use puro puro without tiles because it is behind a locked quest location. But you do not need to unlock tiles to complete the quest alone?

I think the instances should be used along with your Tileman rules. But each tile you can unlock counts for you ability to do 1 specific instance.

Very nice series I'm hoping! So enjoyable to see you in another form than PVP. As for the random events I think the fairest option would be; Use the random events tiles freely and only unlock minigames or quest instances whenever you have the amount of tiles 'backed up' in XP. Maybe you could argue to drop the loot from the random events up until you have hit a certain point. Like 50 tiles unlocked is one random event its loot unlocked?
