For everyone wondering: Buckley got hit with a tornado, so he didn't have Internet for a few days. With hundreds of GB of VOD download, that's not an easily manageable task. Good thing is, that Wirtual's stalling and not getting progress falls in exactly that timeline, so I am expecting we will get new videos very soon. Source: About 0:24:19 in the latest stream ("RESOLUTE FOCUSED GAMER CLIMBS IMPOSSIBLE Trackmania Tower - 1252m PB | Day 16"), or 132:51:11 on the green timer.

@@Hephaestus_God yes. Pittsburgh had 3 tornados on friday. One hit 2 miles down the road from me. EXTREMELY unusual weather for the second hilliest city in the US. I am now wondering if he's in my city :D

Green Timer author here! Thanks Wirtual for checking out my map and for all the kind words about it! I'm glad you enjoyed playing it and I am hoping to make more maps of a similar style soon, maybe with increased difficulty too :) It made my whole week to see something I've made in a video of yours. Hey mate, I actually started playing your map today. Absolutely great track! Been chipping away at it quite a bit this afternoon, currently 3rd on the board, but looking to squeeze into second if I can get another 0.8 seconds off my time, haha. I won't even come close to Wirtual (The fact he set that time in about 20 minutes is nuts) Keep up the good work with the maps!

That last map is Trackmania to me! Amazing! I wish Trackmania eSports would be like that again: Exciting, spectacular and memorable. Obviously not exactly like that, eSports has to have difficulty and a high skill level as well, but it's more like the TMGL maps in 2020 and 2021. And I still remember them extremely well, because they were unique. No other game can give that experience that we have had in TMGL 2020 and 2021.

That last map made me think how great it would be to have a full speed level in the next tower map. Maybe even have it shaped like a tornado (no pun or insensitivity intended - the top level would lend itself well to a full speed section). Or, do the reverse and have the full speed section on the bottom level and make each higher level smaller - perhaps like a pyramid of sort.

Or put the full-speed section on the bottom level, put a half-dozen really hard levels as bait, and also put a "shortcut" that uses the speed from the bottom level to jump above the bait levels. Because you know with that sort of speed someone will figure out how to do it, so you might as well plan for it.

I've been focusing on creating tracks myself instead of racing. I've gotten a dozen author times (both training and 2024 Spring campaign, even though I'm in autumn over here), but I'm very inconsistent on official tracks due to my low-braking style. Aesthetics are lacking for now, but I'm hopeful that Wirtual would like them.

Keep practicing, and don't be shy about sharing your creations! The more experience you get with the editor and incorporating feedback, the more the community will love what you create. I'm sure Wirtual (or maybe a ton of Trackmania's new fans!) will be playing your maps before you know it :)

Sakura is a japanese word for cherry blossom, it is made up of 3 syllables: さくら the "r" sound in japanese is pronounced with a flick of the tongue on the roof of the mouth that makes it sound closer to an English L or the beginning of a rolled R from Spanish. Sah Koo Lah is how I would write it if I were to try to write it phonetically. That being said pronounce it however you want people will figure it out :P

Listen, I get it, the green timer is important. But in this video, we clearly needed an additional blue timer to see the total time spent driving all the maps combined. Just no way getting around it.
