I Tried the STAINED GLASS Effect - Acrylic Pouring

Here you see me creating a stained glass effect with acrylic pouring. I haven't tried this one before so wasn't too sure what to expect. At first I thought it was going badly but once I spun it out it looked much better. There is definitely room for improvement though! What do you think?

Hi Fiona, I’ve stopped video, part way through, as I have a suggestion for you, concerning your thick area, of black ca mix. If you gently touch your finger to that area of thick ca, you will have cells pop up, as this breaks the surface tension of the ca. just be careful, as this can cause large cells to form. You can also blow through a straw, and this will also allow the cells to break through. Hope this is helpful. Going to watch the rest of your video now 😊

The reason the bit you don’t like looks so dull is that you pulled white over it when scraping. But personally I love the darker areas as they add some contrast.

Overall, I think your piece is quite pretty. The bloom/swipe techniques are definitely not for the faint hearted 😂. They are incredibly difficult and, as you said, require a lot of practice. I did the bloom course, two years ago and I’m only just now beginning to dip my toes, in the water 😂. I think you did brilliantly ♥️👏💐

I so wish I could get my swipes to look like yours. American floetrol(flood) doesn’t work the same at all. It’s quite maddening !

I use British paints wall interior low sheen for my base and Taubmans Sunproof exterior neutral base for my colours. This is in Australia and might not be available in other parts of the world.
